Despite some unfavourable reviews, we actually enjoyed this place....the service was friendly, the service efficient and the pinxtos of good quality......often when people experience bad service it is because they appear as arrogant and unsmiling to the establishment's staff....we are not to know whether this was the case with some of the bad reviewers but we enjoyed the place...

We ate here on easter monday, as it was about the only restaurant that was open in Hondarribia. The set menu (including wine) was around 25 EUR, which is quite cheap. You get however what you pay for, as the food is quite basic. The tapas at the bar did seem nice however.

Happened across this simple cantina on a day's drive through Basque Spain - a basic menu of tapas and several delicious looking tortillas on display. Drank local wine, ate croquettes of jam and salt cod, the carnivore among us loved the slices of gelatinous pigs trotters and I adored the flash-fried tiny squid. The baccalau tortilla topped with fried green peppers was the pick though! The helpful waitress spoke enough English to make up for our complete lack of Spanish and really worked at making sure we understood each other and got what we wanted. Highly recommended!

Whilst having an evening stroll, we were tempted in by the offer of cocktails. Very nice vibe at this place with both outside and inside seating. The owner served us with a smile and soon recognised us as English by our accents!!!!
