A beautifully historic hotel built in 1891, with many unique features including West Australian Jarrah railway sleepers from the old Ghan line as bar tops, along with a family friendly restaurant featuring an undercover kids playground and playstations.
The Barron River Hotel (alias Stratford Hotel) offers good pub food in a friendly atmosphere. You can sit inside or out, plus there is a public bar and a gaming lounge in the hotel. The meals are good size - We had the pork belly which was excellent. There is a children's playground so very family friendly. Good value for money.

On the other hand, the beer was great, the service excellent and the location and atmosphere perfect. I would certainly give it another go, but perhaps not for German food.
