We had heard lots of things about Lakeside through the years, so on your last trip to Montana went for dinner. The vintage setting is cute -- tables by the lake, volleyball court, horseshoes, climbing apparatus -- you can dip your toes in the water while you wait. and wait. and wait. When the dinner finally came it was average. The ribs tasted like the prepared ones in the packages at Costco. This property is for sale, so perhaps the owners are "over it". Good location, though.

Great out of town find ! Great upper -end dining , great wine list , full bar , over night Glamping , 9 hole excective golf course , live music on the weekends !
I really enjoyed eating here. The service was great yet not overbearing. The atmosphere delightful eating on the patio watching deers and wild turkeys play in the fields. The food was fresh, well prepared and delicious. Not a big menu but what they offer is top notch. So freshly and individually prepared I was in another zone! The homemade asian dressing is outstandingAdditional touches include glassware, beautify silverware and plating that shows off their food.I'll be back!!

On our last night in Helena, long time friends with whom we were visiting suggested we go out for dinner. This restaurant is out-of-town, but because Helena was hosting an art walk that night, they wanted to avoid the crowds in the central area.Looking to have something light to eat, my spouse and I both ordered the Neptune Salad made with baby shrimp, "krab," and garnished with sliced egg and tomato. I had the small plate at $10.95 while my husband had the large at $13.95. Oh my! Both servings were humongous-- more than either of us could eat!! Big Portions in the Big Sky!While there was nothing special about these seafood salads, except for the size, they were good and satisfied both of us.
Historic bar that serves small plates, wine, cocktails, draft and bottled beer in a gorgeous setting. Great for group outings, date nights, dancing and business meetings. Business Casual dress code.
Top end service, food, and drink. This has been the high society private club for over a century and has finally opened to the public. Always great food and most things you can't find anywhere else in Helena. Wonderful jazz Wednesdays.

Went here for dinner two nights ago and it was an absolute joke. My husband ordered a burger that had ZERO seasoning in the patty and he had to drown it in ketchup to make it edible. My father-in-law got chicken strips which my husband wishes he ordered instead because there was at least flavor in those. I ordered a grilled cheese since I wasn't that hungry but it was terrible. The cheese wasn't melted AT. ALL. I could've saved the $4.50 and made one at home that was better. And I ordered mac n cheese for my baby since she loves mac n cheese and she refused to eat it after one taste. It was pathetic. It was just Kraft with blended cheese sprinkled on top. I don't blame her for turning her nose up at it! We make better HOME MADE mac n' cheese at home. But we were out of town for the night and heard decent things about this place. That's when I realized the only praise came from people over 50 or people that like to drink there. NEVER GOING BACK WE'LL BE GOING TO SHELLY'S NEXT TIME. BYE.

Wonderful wine selections and extremely knowledgeable waitstaff in an inviting and comfortable atmosphere. It was nice to be able to get a small tasting before ordering a glass of wine. They obviously aim to please.

Strange to talk about grilled cheese at a tavern in the middle of no where...but I would drive miles for the grilled cheese at the York bar. It's a funky place, loud and attracts a peculiar group of people from locals to bikers. Service can be slow but the grilled cheese and Berger are worth the wait.l

Very comfortable restaurant with attentive staff. The menu is huge with innovative and delicious salads . The pork braised sprout salad cane with generous slices of Brie. Try the veggie nachos, sooo good! Lots of desserts and great beer and wine choices. I enjoy eating on the patio in warm weather.

My husband and I chose this place due to their variety of meal-sized salads. We were NOT disappointed. We both had excellent salads with outstanding and flavorful dressings. The salads were generous and the lettuce and veggies were fresh and crisp. We both had grilled chicken on our salads and it was very juicy and tasty. The beer cheese soup was to die for! Really cheesy and served nice and hot. The waitress was very knowledgable about their beers and ciders and made suggestions, complete with taste testers. Very good food -- does have a bit of a college sports bar vibe, but that was not off-putting. It could be though on a busy night. We were there on a Monday and just enjoying Monday Night Football with a few other patrons.
