we had the roast of the day namely pork. It was good and the price was reasonable. We had red wine to accompany same (a bottle shared by 3 of us) and it was of good quality. Compared to other places of same category the price of meals were reasonable for a good meal.

Arrived late in Hobart and headed here after looking at some good reviews. This place didnât dissapoint. Staff were friendly and food was yum. Fries with chilli (the beef kind), mole beef taco, Mac and cheese sticks and the chicken wings were all winners

Welcome to Botanica Bar and Restaurant Salamanca Hobart . Situated in a transformed Georgian Sandstone Warehouse, inspired by the beautiful surrounds and mystique of Salamanca, Botanica features the best of our local distilleries, breweries and delicacies
On our recent trip to Hobart we visited Botanica twice. Great wines...the house pinot gris and house pinot noir (Icon) were fab. Small plates shared included calamri, fat chips and aioli, popcorn chicken with chilli...all fresh, perfectly cooked and great flavours. We were there on a busy Friday night..table outside..lots happening, a great spot to people watch and enjoy a drink or two. Prices reasonable ...this one is a must in Salamanca!

Real Food, Real Music At the Duke we love to share the best of Tasmania. So we source our food locally, our artwork is local, as are our musicians, and our extensive collection of Tassie Gins and Whiskys. Live music every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and
The food was really bad. The food was overpriced - you are paying upscale restaurant prices for pub food. The bartender was nice but some woman or manager was just rude and didnât seem to have service industry background. Not friendly. Very busy on wed trivia nights. The most brightly lit blues bar Iâve ever seen. Seems to get good reviews but I donât understand why - maybe because it has no competition and is trying to be everything at once? The music is good. I recommend donât go - but if you do go for the music/trivia night but not for the food and not for the service . Awful

The historic Cooleys Hotel is located in the heart of Moonah, just 7 minutes from the Hobart CBD. Once you step into Cooleys Hotel, it feels like you are a whole world away from the busy atmosphere of the immediate vibrant shopping precinct of Moonah, and
Monday night in Hobart - wasn't sure we would find anything open. Fortunately Cooleys Hotel was and its restaurant was a real surprise. Excellent decor, sophisticated and under stated; friendly and efficient staff. Drinks arrived promptly as did the menus. Impressive and varied. Everybody was happy with their meal. Well done to all concerned. My main issue was not with the hotel but with the obviously stupid and archaic licensing laws in Tasmania. Talk about a nanny state. Our last $38 bottle of red was 90% full when we had paid the bill and were ready to leave. Asked for a cap - impossible; you can't leave the premises with YOUR wine. Unbelievable, two extra staff arrived to ensure we didn't. Did anyway without a cap.

Was with my mum and sister.Steak was great, did vary a little from the medium rare across the whole steak, but chips were fine and salad did have dressing.Sister had pork and it looked great as well with terrific crackle.Mum has a burger and though she did not finish it was good for her. Well worth the visit.

Beer battered fish of the day with chips and salad was beautiful. Salad was fresh and well seasoned. Chips were crisp and fish perfect. The Wagyu Beef was not so good. It was tough and showed no marbling. I wondered if, indeed, it was Wagyu. When mentioned to the waiter it was tough, he seemed surprised and said it was sous vied, so it shouldnât have been tough. The vegetable which accompanied the beef were delicious.
