A family-run country inn serving delicious gastro pub classics, The Bay Horse enjoys praise in countless pub guides. Proprietor and head chef Craig crafts a menu of regional favourites, while making use of some of the finest produce from surrounding Lanca
First time at Bay Horse Inn this afternoon for Sunday lunch. Found whilst googling best Sunday pub lunches near me. Unusually for that Google search, it really lived up to its reputation. From the gorgeous garden surroundings to the beautifully balanced beetroot salad starter and the perfectly rendered rack of lamb, our lunch was a delight. The soft jazz floating out from the restaurant and the prompt but unassuming service just made it. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

A charming village pub located in beautiful Lancashire countryside. With three open fires you'll always be able to keep warm in winter plus our extensive beer garden and Camp site offers comfortable seating with glorious views. A perfect place to enjoy a
Decidedly average; beef and fish were off - awaiting deliveries - and whilst our friendâs chicken pie was excellent, my partnerâs Portabello Mushroom burger was dry and disappointing and my Cumberland Swirl sausage turned out to be three over-cooked links. Presentation was average too - my vegetables were just carrots. We clearly visited on an off day, given other glowing reviews.

The pub is very neat and tidy - well decorated - maybe a bit clean smelling! The welcome was excellent the staff were xtremely friendly. The food was a very good basic menu with good variation at very good prices. Certainly no complaints on that score. Everything was well done in a timely fashion and tasty.

Visited Garstang enroute to returning home on Saturday. Called for lunch, un be known to us it must have been a bad time for them. Two other customers had been waiting to be served as we entered the bar. They both left stating they had been ignored by the two bar staff. Their patience exhausted they left. We persevered and gained their attention and placed an order. We were acknowledged as diners because we were given a knife and fork. Forty five minutes later we asked if our order was going to arrive. We were told it would be another ten minutes. Fearing the worst that the fare that would arrive would be a disaster was unfounded. It was hot well cooked and served by very attentive staff. A little communication to customers explaining there would be a delay would have helped enormously. In summary good food but boy did we have to wait for it.

A friend and I popped in to lunch whilst passing and were most impressed with the food on offer ,the spacious ambience of the place and the friendly and prompt service .We both had the steak and kidney pudding with a red wine sauce (and vegetables) and were delighted with our choice. Recommended.

Came here a few weeks ago. Rang ahead to make sure they were still serving the beef and booked a table. Took the dog who is welcomed albeit him not liking other dogs coming up to him and hence barked at the landlords spaniel (sorry about that). The roasts dinners I have to say are fantastic, slow cooked and tender beef. Fantastic mash and roasties. Lovely yorkshire puddings and lovely veg too, extra gravey was no problem and all for £12.95.It was so nice we ve already been back for another treat last week.

Ate here midweek with family. This is a lovely building, with a "proper" pub feel (lots of little rooms, traditionally kitted out), very comfortable. The place was pretty busy and dealt with a lot of orders at 6pm, when they start doing food. We had starters and mains - the starters themselves would have counted as a lunch, being very generous, and the mains were huge. They offer a pretty sensible "pub" type menu and also have a variety of specials - all at sensible prices. I'd ordered a fish dish - the piece of fish was double the size I'd anticipated. The rest of the (pretty large) plate was filled too with the rest of the dish! All tasty and served piping hot. Very friendly staff who genuinely seem to care about everyone's experience -whether it's simply choosing the right drink at the bar, or staying to eat. They do rooms too, which I hadn't realised, and it's somewhere I'd be more than happy to stay, as I suspect the experience would be very enjoyable! A lovely, relaxed atmosphere....such a shame we live so far away, but will happily return if and when I'm next in the area.

The Horns Inn is a stylish Country Pub where you can catch up with friends, unwind after work or simply find a sophisticated space to indulge in an excellent selection of food and drink. The 'Horns' had been a popular pub and eating-place for locals and
Just off the A6 is this friendly pub.The bar staff were friendly and helpful. There was a decent selection of beers. There are several pleasant dining areas. The menu was extensive and a little complicated. In the end we opted for the lunchtime special of two courses for £10. Lots of choices. The place seemed quite busy but service was prompt, well done the chef. Our choices were really good and the portions larger than some places standard fare. The lunch special is a real bargain with no drop in standard.Would highly recommend for above-average pub food.
