Been here a couple of times to eat, as it's close to my girlfriend's flat.Today, we were in for breakfast. My girlfriend, ordered a Scottish breakfast & I ordered a roll in veg sausage & potato scone.Unfortunately, they were out of veg sausage, but the lovely server, offered me alternatives. The food is top class, for a pub & the staff are consistently nice, which makes for a good environment. There's a good selection on the menu & the prices are great too.The game changer, would be if there was a vegan selection! :)The beer gardens a nice touch as well as being owe to the train station.Hi Karen S,Thanks so much for your great review! We are so glad you enjoyed your visit with us today and that we managed to find a suitable alternative for your breakfast! We will definitely take on board your feedback regarding vegan breakfast options and hopefully we will see some vegan options on our next menu change. Donât forget, we have our vegan menu running from 12pm daily. Kind regards

We have came here a few times for just a main course but tonight we came for 3 courses, the food does not disappoint, my partner is coeliac and Ghillies caters for this with many options in every course, I am a picky eater and donât do garnish or salad and again they are happy to accommodate, staff checked to see we were ok throughout the courses without being annoying and they were on hand to offer drinks as and when we needed them, David the chef came out at the end to ask how our food was too. Well looked after and very reasonable prices with quality food, highly recommend the Jacobite starter along with sirloin steak main, and like me if you can manage then try the chocolate heaven. Now stick a fork in me, Iâm done!!!Ps ample free parking outside as well as bus stops both sides of the roads and a taxi rank so loads of transport options too.Restaurant was spotless as were the toilets.Glad you enjoyed your visit it is our customers who make us and we appreciated the feedback good or bad ! if at anytime you feel our standards have slipped please let us know we don't get it right all the time but we do try to hope to see you again soon thank you

The Elizabethan is a public house serving a selection of Common British pub meals including steak pie, scampi, macaroni etc...Enjoy 2 meals for only £8.95 from a selection including the 8oz Rump steak. Meals served from 12pm - 10pm daily.
Two night stay in Dunfermline and wanted to dine out on the first night, 'You can always try the Elizabethan,it's only a short drive away' said the receptionist in the Holiday Inn. It was easy to find and we waited ,as requested at the door for a table. Not too long before we were ushered to a table for two.No waiting for a table, but fifteen minutes before anyone arrived to see if we wanted a menu. Have to say it was quite a varied menu. Drinks ordered we waited for another ten minutes for a waiter to come and take our order for food.Hunters Chicken for me, and Chicken and Leek pie for Jane. The meal was no more than OK, and neither of us cleared our plates. All the while the singer was playing his guitar and rendering a selection of songs. (Which all had the same backing track.) Or so it seemed. After we finished our main course, we sat and chose our desserts. We never got them, as when the girl finally came back to our table, she handed us a mint chocolate sweetie each, and handed us our bill.(We had not asked for the bill) So surprised at this we decided it was easier to pay and go. The couple seated at the next table were greatly amused and astounded as much as we were at the way we had been treated. So we made our way to the bar to pay,(wading our way through the food droppings and serviettes which were all around us at the table. No one seemed to think of clearing up from previous guests. All in all, not a place we would want to revisit.Maybe just a 'bad day' but not a chance of us trying again.

Handmade, hand crafted burgers in a relaxed setting looking over the famous Dunfermline Abbey. If you are looking for some real cooking done with a twist the The Old Inn is a must try. We have over 15 handmade burgers on the menu and some great craft beer
Having had a meal here one year for our Xmas night out a couple of years ago we decided to have a bar lunch here whilst on a shopping trip to Dunfermline. The pub has a vintage "old" feeling about it on the outside but it is clean and well laid out inside. Once through the door head straight on to the rear of the building, where the food is served, if you only want a pint then turn right once through the door where you will find the bar. Once seated the server came over and took our order, although 99% of the food was burgers there are chicken and veggie options too with plenty of sides. All burgers come with fries. Most if not all burgers have some sort of cheese on them, however if you don't like cheese (like myself) I would urge you to leave it on as it compliments the burger and doesn't detract or dull the taste (like some fast food places). Without doubt this has got to be the best burger I (and my wife complimented the taste too, a huge compliment from her!) have ever tasted the bun was warm and soft, the meat was melt in the mouth and the cheese just a prefect accompaniment to the meat. The servers (sorry didn't get your names but you were working Sun 19th Aug 2018) were polite, well presented and prompt. If you are looking for a light lunch with great taste and at a great price then this is the place for you, its right outside the Abbey and kids are allowed in if you are ordering food.

We hadn't been here for years and were really impressed with the friendly service and quality of the meals. We ordered a lot of different starters and mains and everything was piping hot & very tasty. I would recommend the baked chicken with the haggis stack! Sadly, no room for desserts (this time) but we'll be back. Our two grandsons enjoyed the kid's menu too.

A gem of a find overlooking the water in Limkilns. Very friendly and welcoming pub with a great choice of both food and drinks, including local ales. We popped in three times whilst we stayed in the area - good quality lunch time menu and even when we just stopped off for a coffee one afternoon it was a really welcoming (I recommend you try the homemade scones). Thursday was open mic night for local musicians and was a really lively friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend it if you're in the area.Hi Sue,Thanks for taking the time to write your lovely review. Iâm glad you enjoyed our home made scones. They are delicious We look forward to welcoming you back again next time you are in the area. Many Thanks,Sarah and Kirk
