This Is A Riverside Pub With A New Restaurant. Food is served Monday to Saturday 12.00 to 2.30pm and 6pm to 9pm and Sundays 12.00 to 3pm
The best thing about this pub is where it's situated, smack on Teignmouth's Back Beach, close to the commercial part of the harbour and overlooking the Teign estuary with the pretty village of Shaldon beyond. It's just the place to drink a pint or two and watch the sun go down on a warm, balmy, evening any time of the year. The sense of timelessness is one of this pub's many charms.I've always found the staff friendly, chatty and efficient. Inside is really nothing special but comfortable, homely and, really, what you expect a local pub to be.I've eaten there a couple of times and, when I've dined, the food has been well prepared, wholesome and reasonably priced. You would probably not go out of your way to dine there but, if you're hungry, there's a good chance you'd find something to satisfy your appetite. What probably puts the pub almost in a class of its own are the small music festivals it puts on, organising a special stage outside which, as far as I know, is at no extra cost to those who stop to listen. The music can be folk, rock or pop and many local groups perform. This quite clearly brings much pleasure to many, both visitors and locals.

We visited the pub on a quiet, off season day, quite early for lunch. It was crowded but luckily we found a nice table. When we saw the choice on the menu we realised exactly why it was crowded and the food was excellent. Parking is an issue and it may be worth taking the ferry from Teignmouth !

Driving up to it over the bridge, one is distracted by the wonderful water view and the boats, although there is not much designated parking space on the other side of the road, It is believed that there is additional car parking to the side. This country pub is definitely dog friendly and is evidenced by the water bowl just outside the front door and by the number (2) well-behaved dogs at, or by the tables. On a warm day, the tables and benches in the gardens would provide more than acceptable seating.Access may be slightly problematic for wheelchair users due to the narrow gaps between tables and the stairs to the toilets on the first floor. There is a warmth to the layout of the bar area and there are ample wooden tables and chairs/benches for patrons that were all clean. Our order was quickly taken although only sandwiches were ordered, they were quickly made up and brought to the table. The sandwiches were adequately filled, however the "salad" and crisps were miniscule.Staff were very friendly despite quite clearly being rushed off their feet..

How anyone can sit in this pub with a good conscious is beyond me. Landlords are absolutely disgusting & homophobic. I have witnessed the word âdykeâ being hurled at innocent woman on more than one occasion & I have had enough of it. How can a landlord still be in business in 2018 when he is so comfortable to square upto a 5foot nothing female when sheâs almost in tears because of what he is calling her?!

A little gem in Dawlish, a very friendly place where the food is great. We had toasties with chips and salad, the homemade coleslaw is delish. Very good prices too. One of our fav places when we are down here. Not an expert on beer but my husband says a great selection and the lovely bar man is happy to give advice.

Restaurant & Carvery located on Cofton Holidays award winning holiday park. Sumptuous Carvery year round every Sunday.
This must be the best Sunday carvery around. Can be enjoyed not just by the holidaymakers but also nearby residents flock in. You have the excellent Frank carving your choice of the âmeatsâ. The accompanying roast potatoes and vegetables, plus the best cauliflower cheese Iâve ever had is too die for. The pleasant Richard and his colleagues behind the well stocked bar are a pleasure to spend your money with. Well done you crowd. Thanks for the glowing review Richard! We loved having you here and can't wait to welcome you back. The ideal Sunday is surely a lengthy stroll around our woodland walks followed by a hearty carvery. Stacking your plate high with steamy veg and tender meat.. Make sure you save space for one of our mouth-watering desserts though!
