My family and I were here with a touring show about 5 years ago. While wandering around Newcastle, we saw this very old looking building with a pub called Red House, so we decided to give it a shot. Had an amazing pie. Holy guacamole! (There's no guacamole in the pie, it's just an expression.) It was great! We have talked about the pies ever since. When my family heard I was going back to Newcastle without them this time, they were so bummed they would miss out on Red House pies! I recommend the mince and onion with minted peas and meat liquor. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I also took some co-worked with me. I'd raved about the place so much I was afraid it might not live up to their expectations. But they all loved it as well! Highly recommend hitting the Red House at least once, maybe twice. Or three times.

A beautiful traditional village pub with a sun trapped beer garden and serving meals all day. Come and try our traditional Indian Curry every Tuesday and Wednesday. Every Thursday we have a Steak Night. Tapas on Friday and Saturday. Sunday roasts go down
Ordered fish and chips, steak and chips, kids ordered chips and chicken nuggets and spaghetti. Every meal was a massive portion and top quality, beautifully presented and very good service! They have a new menu which was much better but also have a 2 meals for £10 Which is brilliant value, our meal and 2 coke's with a wine 2 beers and a cuppa came to just over £46 Which i thought was brilliant value! Thanks Derek to you and all your team, xxxThank you so much for taking time out to leave a review. We are very happy you enjoyed the visit and look forward to seeing you again soon.

We decided to try the carvery after seeing it advertised a few weeks earlier. A choice of four meats and a huge selection of very tasty veg. Homemade gravy and very surprised to find the stuffing was sausagemeat which was delicious. All really tasty, good value and friendly staff, we'll definitely be going back.Thank you for your Kind Words. We hope to see you again soon. DanManager

Went for dinner early on Friday evening. We have been before and have usually been able to get a table. However, on this occasion just about every table was occupied or reserved. It would be helpful if the website made it clear that booking is recommended. There were in fact only two tables available. One tall one with high stools and a normal table in what we were told was a dog friendly room. We took the one in the dog friendly room only because the room was empty and the reservations were for much later. I have never been keen on eating with animals, I generally prefer restaurants to barns and I know quicker ways to get to the dog house. Needless to say the service was fairly slow and by the time food arrived so had the dogs. Why do people feel the need to take animals to dinner? Eating food and trying to ignore the eau de wet dog is not my idea of enjoyment. Passed on dessert and coffee and left quickly but probably not as fast as the huge greyhound sitting next to us could have managed.

The Gibraltar Rock Tynemouth offers quality food and drinks in a warm and cosy environment. Our Carvery and special desserts are what we're famous for and why lots of you choose us for eating out on special occasions. Our main menu offers a generous selec
Rock hard Yorkshire pudding, uncooked broccoli and ghostly white 'roast' potatoes with no crispness or colour whatsoever let the carvery down today. On the plus side, the carrots and parsnips were lovely. My friend and I both enjoyed our desserts (apple toffee crumble and syrup sponge), served with beautifully smooth custard. The Gib gave good overall value and friendly service as always, but the disappointing elements of the carvery made an 'average' rating the only option on this occasion.

Indian/ bangladeshi cuisine in the heart of whitley bay. Family run business with over 35 years of experience in the catering trade. Takeaway and home delivery service and outdoor catering available.
The bar for Indian in Whitley Bay is low. Itâs full of 3rd+ generation Bangladeshi restaurants competing to add as much sugar as possible to their curries, presumably driven by the localsâ taste. But not this one. Donât get me wrong, Iâm not transported to India, but they do have some different dishes that you wouldnât find elsewhere. The service is always top notch, great with the recommendations, and the food is way above average for this town. But then again, I donât like sugar in my curry and it seems the vast amount of people around here demand it.

A lovingly restored bar and eatery in the heart of Tynemouth. Youâll find us midway down Tynemouthâs bustling Front Street just through the sleepy arches of the old arcade. Nestled amongst the boutique shops, restaurants, old pubs, surf shops and deliâs t
We used to go here every week but once the chef left and the food quality suffered we stepped back... The replacement chef is OK.... The place is tired now and needs a serious lick of paint too which I am told is happening in August... Fingers crossed as we do like the place and the staff Hi Stephen,We are sorry to hear youâre feeling a little disappointed with Lola Jeans as of late, especially with you being someone who has been a regular guest in the past! We agree that our venues are in need of a little TLC due to the wear and tear our busy weekends bring. With this in mind, we have two big refurbishments planned due in October which weâre very excited about! We canât wait for everyone to see what we have in store. We take great pride in our food quality and quality of service, and will be sure to pass on your comments to the management team to ensure that our food is up to the signature Lola Jeans standard you have come to expect of us. Wow. In a fantastic setting looking directly out to sea. New management has really turned this place around. You will not find a friendlier or satisfying welcome anywhere in Whitley Bay! The new menus have proved very popular. A very unpretentious establishment, one feels instantly comfortable and welcome. It does Wednesday Steak nights, Sunday band nights and great fare, particularly on Sunday lunchtimes. Why do I travel 6 miles each way every lunchtime that Iâm in town? Because the feel of the place and the enthusiasm and friendliness of all staff, in a beautiful setting sells itself! I thoroughly recommend this wonderful public house and restaurant! Thank you to the staff for your service. Well impressed! Keep on doing what you are doing; please!RolyLt Col Roly Love MA, CEng FIET, CMGr, FCMI, APMP, GCGI.

We ordered a grilled chicken breast with a sauce, mash and vegetables and I had the fish finger sandwich with double-cooked chips. Great range of beers. Friendly welcome. It's a real local as well as attracting visitors. Both meals were great. My fish finger sandwich looked like home made fish fingers. The chips were excellent so was the tartare sauce. The chicken was delicious apparently. There's a nice community feel- there was a MacMillan coffee morning happening in the other bar. The cakes and coffee looked great. The staff were friendly and really helpful to customers. Food arrived pretty quickly. Portions generous. Everything clean. Prices good. We will be back for the famous pie and chips soon.
