We were certainly ready for a cold beer and a meal after walking from Lagazuoi on path 23. That boulder field went on for ever. The welcome was great, the beer came fast and we really enjoyed our meal -- home made hamburger, and it certainly tasted that way, with real french fries (not oven ones) for my husband and Bratwurst and sauerkraut for me. It quite set us up for the final hike to Corvara.

While skiing we passed Mesoles. It is a traditional family run Tirolan place. You can tell by the interieur and the dishes. The hosts are friendly and so are the prices.Plenty of regular guests tell the story.Traditional Gordon Blue was tasty.Go there if you have the chance.

Have been visiting the Dolomites (Colfosco) for ten years and have always finished most days après ski in this bar (previously Peter Strube).Seems to have lost its friendly & welcoming ways. Even the little complimentary 'tapas' have gone. When it takes just over 15 minutes for a round of drinks to be served & then get it wrong it is definitely time to move on.Very sad.....but happily there are other bars nearby (Sadla, just by the bridge in Colfosco High Street) which offer a welcoming smile, friendly & efficient service.

Capanna nera is in between the skilifts Pralongia 2 and Pralongia 1. if you bypass the Pralongia 2 chairlift on the right side, you are on your way tot the Pralongia 1 chairlift, but halfways down (after the steep bit) you will see Capanna nera on your right. yo ucan ski right into it and out again. Capanna nera is a black building ant it's outdoor seating area is perfectly positioned for a drink in the afternoon. Of course they serve lunch too, but I've never tried the food here. Great stop for a drink!
