Nice pub restaurant in the heart of Wynberg Chelsea-type country. Shakespeare area near Maynardville. Good parking off and on street. Some security presence. Can't testify to credibility. At the pub one can watch sport. Live TV. One can watch locals interacting and getting mellow. A very nice place. Easy to find. Recommended.

Taproom Salt River, Situated at the foot of Devilâs Peak Mountain, The Taproom is an inviting pub and restaurant which showcases the latest creations from Devilâs Peak Brewing Company. Enjoy craft beer and what some say is the best burger around, or simpl
For really good food and cold beer this is a great place. The fish was fresh and very good. The portions is very big. Loved the industrial look and feel of the place. Good and friendly service.

Food: Chateaubriand, meat was still cold inside and quite tasteless, the sauce lacked flavourService: I had to ask 3 times for a glass of water, not very attentiveAmbiente: a typical pub, very loud, difficult to follow a conversationIf you like to watch any sports this could be a good place but just for eating you can find better places

This was our third visit to the restaurant. The service was attentive and friendly. We love the setting as the kids can enjoy the jumping castle and play area while parents can take a break in this relaxed setting. The drinks were ice cold and very enjoyable. The food is typical pub food and quite average. It lacks seasoning and doesn't have a lot of flavour. Everyone enjoyed the chips, but that was about it.I would recommend it for its drinks and play area, but would avoid the food. Will return, but not to eat.

Barristers is an institution in the Southern suburbs of Cape Town. Having been founded in 1980, Barristers is in the heart of Newlands Village and is an old favorite of locals and international visitors alike. From the deck which looks out over the villag
We had a mid week dinner with friends and were most disappointed, my Roquefort Brown Mushroom starter resembled baby food very oily, we asked if the bacon could be excluded from the Cardiff Escargot starter and were told absolutely not but when it arrived the bacon was a mound 'plopped' in the middle of the dish - could easily have been excluded). My chicken schnitzel was cold and the side dish of spinach and pumpkin fared no better. Calamari and chips lacked colour to the point that it looked like they had served a plate of just chips. My husband's 300g ribeye steak was overly fatty and more rare than medium rare, the mashed potatoes lacked seasoning and the pepper sauce literally grey. The fourth member of our party was determined to say something good about her Spicy Pear & Blue Cheese Steak, best she could say was it was at least served medium rare as requested but taste wise was nothing special. Service wise our waitress was pleasant, despite advising that we would get cutlery "just now"after the food had been on the table for several minutes and that we would get the wine glasses "just now"also sometime after the wine had been brought to the table. There was a private function at the restaurant that seemed to effect the quality of meals and service for us 'general'diners but if a restaurant is going to cater private parties they need to remember to provide ALL diners with a good experience. Can't say we will be recommending or returning to Barristers anytime soon.

The Landmark The Clubhouse is situated in the heart of Constantia providing friendly family romantic environment with excellent service and legendary Cuisines and Daily Specials. The atmosphere is set with an indoor Fire Place while having a glass of wine
WE had christmas dinner there. I already felt it was over-priced but wanted a good family time - which turned out to be a nightmare. Food was late, queue went out the door for the buffet, then items ran out so main-meal items we had seen advertised were finished. Food was cold. We didn't eat together due to arriving back at different times. Desert experience was worse because guests now rushing to grab. I was given a tiny helping because waiter realised he couldn't serve all. Absolutely horrific, over-priced experience. Restaurant gave a voucher but this is useless for our visiting guests and we don't really want to go back. Kitchen seems to small as I've waited there before. I was looking for a place for wedding anniversary but definitely won't. We phoned in advance for vegetarian but had not prepared - so basically kid's meal + leftover salads

I visited recently because I had an Entertainer voucher and I love having fillet steak here. My steak was very good, cooked to order and enjoyable. My friend enjoyed her rump steak too.

Only bug-bear is that happy hour is merely R10 off, rather than there being particularly worthwhile specials; restaurant gets busier after happy hour ends though. Service was excellent - prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was enjoyable. I've had better pizza, but the food was still tasty and well priced. Though I didn't drink during my latest visit, I was impressed by the breadth and diversity of their craft beer selection.
