Decent fried crunchy munchies like fried onion rings, pickles, okra and jalapeno poppers but their wings leave a lot to be desired. They ONLY serve the outer part, the part with the two bones, bit NO inner parts, the part that looks like a drumstick and actually as meat. So, while it looks like a lot in the basket, you really hae to work to get the meat off them bones.

Dinner and drinks on the way to Midnight Yell... roof top view. Really crowded, but we were able to nab a place as folks left. The bartender jumped in to take our order. The ABC sandwich, bleu burger, and chicken caesar salad where better than I expected. Those who drank were happy with the libations. As a nondrinker I thought it was regrettable they were out of tea. The salsa was a bit odd- super thick and smooth...tasted like tomato paste and Sriracha. I was prepared not to like it, but the flavor was really good. Just weird pasty texture. This place is definitely a A&M pre- Yell repeat.

My wife and I live in Houston, and we are visiting B/CS to drop off a son at A&M. We both attended A&M in the 80s. This place compares well with Anvil and Flint Row Eight: grown-up drinks made properly by adults who know what they are doing. The ample outside seating with a cigar and full moon made it over the top. Dustin, the owner, has created a great spot. It's hard to believe that B/CS finally has a bar to which we look forward to bringing our out of town friends.

A little short on waitress help on a Tuesday night. Girls that were there were nice and very helpful. Food was still good and came with resonable time with reasonable selection. Obviously fantastic beer selection. Fun atmosphere. The bartender was very friendly and knowlege about the beer. There was a man behind the bar occasionally. He looked a bit stressed. Not exactly what i want to when going out for R&R, chilled atmosphere. My son and daughter enjoyed all as well. The other patroons we chill as well. I really like the lay out. Especially the tv and sofa near front door.

Opening when I was a student way back when, the Dixie Chicken now boasts about being the oldest bar on Northgate. The Chicken holds special memories and as I reentered after many years of being away, it was most nostalgic, timeless. Donât get me wrong, the place is a dive. â¦and that is what makes it so special. The wooden carved up tables for 42 players, all the neon beer signs, the deer head trophies/ Once the smells get added in, it certainly makes it the best bar in town and maybe even the State of Texas. Returning to College Station for the first time in many years, my family members all required a visit to the âChickenâ so we could get one of their signature hamburgers and fries. The beer list has all the mass produced standards on draft â not many craft beers, but I guess that must be what sells these days to poor college students. Anyway, I just saw the Dixie Chicken celebrated their 45th birthday, so best wishes for many more. May the Chicken remain timeless and forever interesting.
