We had dinner here not knowing anything about it, apart that it has the longest pub verandah in Australia. Plenty on the menu to choose from and we ordered at the counter. Meals didnt take long and they were excellent. Loved my Barramundi, mash and salad. Good sized meals and great tasting. It was a cold night but we were toasty warm inside. Great meals!
Hotel used by miners. Booked in and were given secure place for Harley parking. Miners really sociable. Bar served hot chicken wings and garlic potatoes for free. Beer ice cold. Dining room like a staff canteen, all formica yables. Spotless. Ordered silverside = in UK beef. Australia = ham. Forgot it is a miners restaurant. They eat 3500+ calories a day. Plates arrived with a mountain of beautifully cooked food. One plate would have done us both (no joke), Must have been 400g/1lb of meat on each plate. Wonderful.Bedroom, - bed clean and comfy, sleep quality excellent. Decor a bit dire. Holes in bottom of wall - strange insects whirr around and scuttle on flor, but all goes dead quiet at around 23ooh and we sleep like logs/Not to b missed.
Where to eat Australian food in Bega: The Best Restaurants and Bars
We were greeted by very friendly staff on a busy Friday night with lots of families eating out. The menu was extensive and reasonably priced. The seafood platter was nicely presented and tasted delicious. The chicken caesar salad albeit delicious seemed like a deconstructed chicken schnitzel on a salad. Overall good food in a pleasant atmosphere.
