The Winking Lizard Tavern appears to be a successful Ohio bar/restaurant chain with ~18 locations in the state. As per their name (tavern), they seem to focus on a friendly, trendy atmosphere where people can go for their favorite brew or to try something new. They have 30+ draft beers on tap from which to choose, along with more than 100+ different bottle beer options. In addition they have a selection red & white wines as well as a complete wet bar, featuring whiskeys (bourbons, Irish whiskeys, Tennessee whiskeys, Canadian whiskeys and Single Malt or Blended Scotches). They do have regular and seasonal food menus (with daily specials), however, we only stopped in for a couple of cocktails and to watch some football on this Saturday PM. The venue is quite large with two bars in separate rooms, both of which have table and/or hightop seating. This is a sports bar with plenty of TVs throughout. In the case of this location, they can be entered off Prospect Avenue or Huron Road. They are in a popular downtown area, with a number of restaurants and bars in close proximity, in case you are in the mood to do a pub crawl. We liked the relaxed, sports atmosphere of the Winking Lizard. The service was good and the prices fair. Would have no issue returning, perhaps trying their food next time.

Stopped in for a bite after a day at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Had a great meal and our waitress was amazing. The only "bad" part was the noise level. It was sometimes rather difficult to hear our conversation.

Hofbräuhaus Cleveland is a German microbrewery, beer hall, restaurant, and beer garden that opened downtown in the theater district October 2014! Replicating the 400+ year-old Hofbräuhaus in Munich, Germany, our mission is to bring Bavaria to you. Complet
The Hofbrauhaus is not far from Cleveland's central downtown. On a nice September day, we were staying at a hotel roughly 15 minutes away and had no issue walking to and from the restaurant before and after dinner (10 PM). This venue is quite large, they have a couple huge dining areas inside. In most cases, forget about having a table to yourself, unless you are already part of a large group. The experience at the Hofbrauhaus is meant to be social and interactive. They have many long family style tables. The hostess will combine groups at these tables, especially if you arrive with six or fewer people. Not that this is a problem, just be ready. Alternatively, on nice evenings, you can sit outside in the beer garden, which is also quite a big area overlooking Chester Avenue. This is where our group of ten opted to sit. In this area, they too have a children's play area. As a microbrewery, they serve only their own beers. When we visited these were their Original Lager, Pilsner, Hopfen Spezial, Dunkel and Hefe Weizen. They also have a full bar, if you wish a soft drink or cocktail. They have an extensive menu of German fare that includes freshly baked pretzels, soups and starters, salads, burgers & sandwiches, schnitzels, Bavarian specials, Sausages, fish and five special Vegetarian dinner options (my other half was happy about this). We tried a selection of options across their menu. My other half had the Vegan Pierogies (stuffed with mushrooms & onions, topped with caramelized onion and scallions), while I had the Pierogies & Mettwurst (potato and cheese stuffed pierogies sautéed with mettwurst and caramelized onions, topped with sour cream and green onions). We both enjoyed our food. For me the mettwurst was a hotdog style sausage sliced on the oblique and fried. Think next time I would stick with the pirogues but match them with the fish option. Another in our group had their fish and really liked it. Outside seating was rather quiet and easy for conversation. However, inside was an exuberant, uproarious, rollicking loud musical good time. The music was loud and inviting to all in the audience to participate. Getting up on the benches or on the table tops to dance was encouraged and appropriate. As was asking for a "shot ski" and having your group climb up on the table top to imbibe. We took outside seating because the inside was absolutely packed and we did not want to wait for people to leave. However, inside seemed the place to be in order to have the "full experience" of dining at the Hofbrauhaus. We enjoyed our dinner here and would have no issues returning - hopefully sitting inside next time.

Microbrewery with a nice tap selection on a very long bar. It is also a restaurant in a nice airy room with very good traditional German food. Attached next door is a small delicatessen with a great selection of imported German and other European specialties. Short walk from the West Side Market.

Everyone is Irish when you visit Flannery's Pub! We pride ourselves for our "perfect pint," large selection of premium Irish whiskeys and scotches, belly-filling comfort food and a jovial atmosphere that makes everyday St. Patrick's Day! We're the perfect
Flannery's is located in downtown Cleveland at Prospect and East 4th Street. East 4th between Prospect and Euclid is a pedestrian alley with a number of restaurants and bars. In other words, Flannery's Pub is in an area of Cleveland with many dining choices. They are an Irish themed venue with a large interior. The interior is divided into family seating and bar area seating areas. They also have outside seating along Prospect. Their decor is rich, dark woods. We found it relaxing and inviting. This evening we were looking for an after dinner libation. The six of us stopped here and grabbed a hightop on the bar side. We had a nice view of the street as well as the TVs above the bar (i.e. for some football). The service was excellent. Our waitress was quick and friendly in taking and providing our orders. She also checked on us in a regular pattern to make sure that we had what we needed. Our experience at Flannery's Pub was a good one and we will definitely return.

Our meal was great!!! The atmosphere was pleasant, warm, relaxing and yet the vibe was exciting with so many people in the Tap House enjoying the beer and the delicious exceptional food! We stopped for dinner on our way home to Indiana. I wanted great dark beer and a great meal to end our wonderful biking vacation cycling 10 days across the state of New York....and the Tremont Tap House hit the mark.

Established in 2011, Market Garden Brewery features Cleveland's first American Beer Garden! We're located next door to the 100 year old West Side Market, in the vibrant neighborhood of Ohio City. Brew Master, Andy Tveekrem keeps us stocked with a lineup o
We stopped in on 8/4 and although we had some delay in service to to miscommunication by the hostess we ended up with a great patio brunch. We had the huevos rancheros, the spring hash, pretzel and the house salads with coffee. We ended up with a greater server/bartender from Denver who took care of us very well. We really did not mind the wait.

The Happy Dog is a neighborhood corner bar in the best sense of the term. We've got hot dogs and beer, and lots of live music, from rock and country to punk and polka. The bartenders are friendly and the bar itself is open and inviting - a racetrack oval
They offer delicious vegan dogs, and loads and loads of topping options. Plenty great brew on tap as well with many local options. It's a cool historic setting too, which could not be replicated in a new establishment. I'm looking forward to going back on my next trip to Cleveland.

A locally owned, and operated brewpub that encourages interaction and community through public house seating, progressive dining, and shared plates.
Great beer and great food. The staff was awesome including my server Chris as well as the rest of the team. After an Indians game the place was hopping although as a solo I was able to get a spot in front of the tvâs without wait. They have flights so you can try all of their beer brewed onsite. I had the mussels and enjoyed them. Great place.

This was recommended as a place to visit on the posted tourist signs around the area. The brewpub itself had a decent selection of beers on tap and there was a decent crowd on the weekends. it was a short walk from the red line station (w.25 ohio city station) to get here. The neighborhood was interesting in that it had quite a few places to eat and drink concentrated around here.
