It only takes one staff member to put you off a location and the Sovereign Tavern has one of them. Less than helpful, does not understand what muddled lemon is, does not bring poker machines back on line. Everything was an effort for her. Food is usually good, watch the chicken kiev as it tends to be burnt.

OMG! The size of the meals were huge. Also very delicious. We had the specials and at $18 each, it was amazing value. The place is packed with locals which is always a good recommendation. Highly recommend

We were pointed to this restaurant by our hotel and it was fantastic. We were lucky enough to be there on a Tuesday (buy 1 get one free) night making our delicious rib eyes very reasonable indeed. Sorry I canât remember exactly how much usually they are each, thinking about $33?

Stopped in for lunch. They have a good solid basic menu at reasonable prices as well as a special of the day for $12. I went with the daily special, corned beef fritters with either salad or veges. I went with the salad. It was quick to arrive. My only complaint was the fritters had been put on top of the small portion of coleslaw and had virtually cooked it by the time I got to it. Apart from that most happy with portion sizes and flavour. There was also plenty of meat in the fritters. The decor though is quite confusing. There is what appears to be a salute to australiana in one section of the pub but other areas are dominated by other themes without any kind of forethought - just seems to have all been thrown together without thought. For example one of the bars is covered with football jerseys and there is a hole in the wall coffee vendor.Bathrooms are very clean but there is no way I'd bring anyone elderly as there is such a large step up to the loo. It's just all too confusing. In the dining area I was in they had several different styles of wooden tables but with outdoor chairs. I'm not overly tall so struggled a bit to eat my meal as the chair was not designed for this purpose. There were real flowers on the table, but if you are going to use "fresh" flowers, make sure they're not dying and wilting. I'd rather no flowers than these.
