The Cock Inn provides an expansive menu of traditional pub classics supported by a daily Specials board. Many of the dishes are made on site and we are pleased to offer smaller portions and alternatives to the advertised menu.
Found this lovely country pub online and very pleased we did.The landlord and staff were extremely friendly and we were made to feel most welcome.I had the sunday roast of rib eye beef and it was delicious.Very generous portion and cooked to perfection. My wife had the belly pork and liked it so much she wants to return as soon as possible. No room for a dessert as totally full on the main courses. All in all a great village pub and highly recommended.

Good local pub, hidden gem in Burgess Hill
Never known a pub to be so strict on noise levels both inside and outside. Yes they have bands sometimes but if you are even laughing too loud you will be told to be quiet or invited to leave. Drinks too expensive (perhaps Heineken's fault as I believe they set the prices as the supplying brewery). Staff incredibly rude. It's quite honestly unbelievable how they can carry on running a pub with their attitude. On a plus side, it is a lovely building.

Enjoyed my vegan choices very much. Excellent presentation and pleasant service. Comfortable modern surroundings and plenty of parking. Need to return in the daytime for another visit. Can heartily recommend the vegan burger though the remainder of the menu looked good too. Alan, Thank you for your recent reviewVery glad to read that you enjoyed your meal with us & that the vegan burger seemed to be a hit.We have a few options for vegan preferences on the menu with many more than can be adapted to suit too - if requested. We will soon be drafting our festive & seasonal winter menus too, so more dishes to sample in the next few weeks once we have everything finalised.Another reason for a lunchtime visit soon then perhaps !?

We visited for my sons birthday. Quite busy for a Tuesday night but the service was excellent. Food was very good particularly the pork belly. Will definitely be returning and have no hesitation in recommending for a great evening. Thank you.

Get the bad bit out of the way first, on the three occasions in one week I came here to arrange today's lunch for ten, there was a strong whiff of disinfectant around the bar which will turn some people away immediately. However, the beer is good and the bar is a good size. The staff are friendly and welcoming and there are enough of them. The pub is clean and light and there is plenty of seating and a feeling of space in what is a pretty large floor area. We came for Christmas lunch. Half of us chose the same starter, Ham Hock. It was as big as some main courses I've been served and very tasty, served with a simple salad and pickle. Most chose either Turkey of Beef as a main, and no one was disappointed. Decent portions of well cooked meat, well cooked vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, loads of roast potatoes all cooked very well. The staff brought more potatoes and vegetables without us asking which I have not seen ever but we were all full. They laid on mulled wine and mince pies and gave coffee to those who asked at no extra charge and at no stage left us wanting for anything. 18 quid - an absolute bargain. I'd have rated them higher if it wasn't for the first thing I mentioned which I'm sure can be easily sorted. Good luck to them and thanks for a good lunch.

This is only the second time we have been here, but another great experiance. This time I had the Christmas sandwich off the festive menu and boy what a great sandwich. It came stuffed with turkey, stuffing, bacon, mayo, cranberry and all held together with a skewered pig in blanket though the sandwich. Great menu, great staff, great food.

Came here on Monday for a friends birthday. Food was average. Staff nice enough. Desserts were very nice. Service ok. Disappointed with salad that accompanied my Minty lamb burger. No dressing and no seasoning on new potatoes, so bit bland. Friends sirloin was chewy. Very average.
