We went on Wednesday evening for something to eat and a catch up. We didn't have to wait long to be shown to a table. Our drinks order was taken quickly but unfortunately when they arrived two of the three drinks were wrong - but this was rectified quickly. We took advantage and ordered two courses from the Supper Club menu for £13.99. Both courses arrived quickly and we all enjoyed them. When we got the bill we had been charged for the drinks that were wrong, apart from the little mishap with the drinks we had an enjoyable evening and would return. Thanks for your kind review, we really appreciate the feedback!Kind Regards,Halfway House Team

A lovely old characterful village pub set in the heart of Cullingworths conservation area. Surrounded by fields and moorland. Three wood burning stoves, 7 real ales brewed two mins away by the owner. A large selection of lagers and other beers both draugh
Eaten here lots but tonight's evening meal was especially good. The chef has put together a Mexican specials menu and we were spoilt for choice. I had the lamb ribs - really succulent - and hubby had the tacos which he described as excellent. All with a lovely, if not very Mexican, Malbec. Met the chef too, who's also lovely!

I haven't been here for a while but my visiting daughter fancied a meal in town. Can never underestimate how good the food is at this pub also indicated by how many people are eating at any given time.I had a very nice pan fried duck breast. Not something I normally see on a regular menu in a pub. My daughter and her partner had regular fish and chips which looked amazing. We all enjoyed the food. The atmosphere was good in the pub. The service was excellent and fuss free. We were allowed to remain unhurried after we had finished eating as we caught up on conversations. It was nice to see children and dogs in the pub. Many dogs just had to be made a fuss of. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. I have to wonder why I don't eat there more often as I never have any gripes about the food quality or the service.

A quiet evening with my daughter was spoilt when nothing I ordered was 'available' - ordered the pizza and prosecco deal - no longer on despite clear advertising. Sweet potato fries had to be ordered elsewhere - farcical. Barmaid didn't seem to know how to make the cocktails or what tonics were available - poor staff training.Hi fionad765, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are currently in the process of updating our blackboards however these should have been changed ready for the weekend. This lovely traditional country pub has to be the most famous 'working' pub in the country, as it is the original Emmerdale Woolpack and the only 'soap' pub where you can actually get a drink. It has a well-stocked bar and fine cask ales, and a tasty menu
We got married in Esholt church 17 years ago and celebrated this year's anniversary with an evening meal in The Woolpack. Upon arrival we received a friendly welcome and were offered a table of our choice. Drinks were served very quickly. The menu is very good and is, apparently, new. Good choice of meat, fish and vegetarian. The food is cooked to a very high standard and wouldn't be out of place in some top end restaurants. We both enjoyed a three course meal and were very impressed. We will not be leaving it for another 17 years before we return. Thank you to the bar and kitchen staff for marking our anniversary with a memorable meal. Also thank you to the chef for the complimentary drink, cheers! Hi The Wagsta,We are so pleased to hear that your trip back to Esholt on your anniversary was made even more enjoyable with a visit to the Woolpack. We are so pleased you liked our warm welcome and friendly service and liked the new Autumn/Winter menu. As you say, we have tried to provide plenty of choice for all tastes and budgets. Hopefully we will see you again soon. Thanks for posting the review, we really appreciate it as it really does give a massive boost for the team's morale.

The Royal is a thriving gastro pub with a fabulous reputation, great food and a great atmosphere We would like to extend a huge warm welcome to all customers both old and new as we start our new venture We are family run business (family means a lot to us
The Royal is a hidden gem where you can get great pub food at reasonable prices. You get service with a smile and booking is available and very easy online. We have eaten here twice recently and both times weâve really enjoyed ourselves. We particularly liked the specials menu which had some very interesting and different dishes.

Needed somewhere nearby for early evening meal, ie 5pm.Always been a good place to have a meal, but...............Ordered 2 large fish and chips, which arrived in remarkable time, which was odd because the batter looked very well cooked and the chips were very 'oily/fatty'.And if they were 'large fish' then the small would be the size of a fish finger. And they weren't exactly cheap, if you are paying top whack then you expect toa) be served what you orderedb) expect the product to be of sufficient qualityThe White Horse failed on all counts. What is more, my partner and I felt quite unwell during the night.Says it all really.

A traditional Yorkshire pub/restaurant with a terrific view of the Yorkshire Dales in the distance, offering good wholesome food. All produce is freshly delivered on a daily basis using only quality products locally sourced. The new owners Joanne and Paul
Went here for lunch. The service was excellent but the food was disappointing.i had mussels which were nice,my partner had king prawns which were over cooked. We both had lamb for our main course which was tough and full of fat.The 4 tiny potatoes were under cooked and the mound of cabbage was far to over seasoned with what tasted like chinese 5 spice. We were recommended to eat here but wont be returning. I am really disappointed at this review and shall look into your comments with our team. This is not like us so please do not take this one experience as our usual. I will also discuss with our butcher regarding the lamb. We do pride ourselves in trying our best to get things right so please do give us another try. Thank you for taking the tome to comment

We came to eat here as our the restaurant in the hotel we were staying in did not open on sunday evenings. We were seated straight away despite the place being very busy. I ordered a glass of Malbec & my husband a diet coke. A young lady came and took our food order. One Lasagne & a steak. . As I said the place was very busy but the staff seemed happy and pleasant .Other meals coming out of the kitchen looked excellent Mussels. roast dinners all looked appetising . Our meals arrived after a short wait my husband said his steak was excellent and cooked to perfection. My Lasagne however was very overdone ( burnt) around the edges . I was very disappointed as what I managed to eat was really nice . That said I am not put off and would return to eat here should I be in the area againThanks for taking the time to let us know how we did. We're glad your husband enjoyed his steak but we're also sorry that you did not feel your meal wad to the same standard. We hope to welcome you again soon so you can enjoy a meal just as much as your husband did. Have a great day!
