This beautiful and newly refurbished, canal-side pub in the delightful town of Bradford-on-Avon. You wonât go hungry at the Canal Tavern, serving brilliant burgers, hearty pub classics, daily fish specials, or even a superfood salad, there is something fo
Went here for dinner with three family members. The butchers block and ploughmanâs were very overpriced for what you got. It was all tasty but just minimal and was worth about £7 rather than the £12 charged. The pudding was the most disappointing, the apple pie was a tiny slice for £6.25 and was all soggy pastry and covered in cinnamon (the menu didnât state this). Clearly it had been microwaved and wasnât fresh.

A fresh update of a beautiful historic inn, serving pub classics, great local ales and fantastic bag in box ciders, plus canal side garden and modern rooms.
I booked a table the week before for an early dinner (strange how some people say they have been told no bookings!) We has to wait for a bit before being able to order the carvery but it arrived very promptly. Good aspects: tender beef; tasty gravy; hot plates; lots of fresh veg.And personable service. Not so good aspects: unpleasant Yorkshire puddings; potatoes not great; small amount of chicken. It was okay and certainly made better by the friendly staff. I have had better roasts but the staff were serving a wedding party, therefore the prompt arrival of our meals was appreciated.

There are Vegetable stews and Stewed Vegetables. Unfortunately this was the latter. We have been regular diners at The castle over the last few years but alas no more.I would have been ashamed to serve this meal in my home. Veg stew was grey, watery and totally lacking in substance and flavour. My wife had terribly disappointing thrice cooked chips and an abysmal blue cheese sauce (really hard to screw up). They served a decent steak and I had some squid that was tasty. However not god enough to forgive the rest.Sad to see this place slide.

The Boathouse is situated overlooking the Bradford on Avon marina with excellent views of the Kennet and Avon Canal. Sourcing fresh local produce, the Boathouse is the place for couples, friends and families to enjoy original canal-side dining with plenty
We were looking for somewhere to eat late on a Sunday afternoon and found our choices limited. Although local(ish) , we had not eaten here for several years and thought we were in for a mediocre large establishment type meal. The menu looked good although the prices seemed a little high (we thought because of the location by the canal). how wrong we were, the service was excellent, the food was fantastic and well worth the price. This is a definite place that we will return to soon.

The Dog and Fox Inn is an up and coming family run country pub. The lease was taken in 2014; the pub was very rough around the edges, requiring some TLC and love. 4 years on we are gathering the positive reviews, with proper pub grub, beautiful location a
Sometimes I like 'posh' pub food, but sometimes I crave a simple, satisfying Sunday lunch. The Dog and Fox is a lovely old country pub offering unpretentious, tasty, generous and reasonably- priced Sunday lunches. I also liked the fact that there were two different gravies for the lamb and beef. Vegetables were plentiful, sauces were generous and proper. Throw in a charismatic and interesting landlord, a lovely garden and what's not to like?

We had lunch at this charming pub and even though they were very busy with late Sunday lunches we were soon shown upstairs to a table. The service was very good, as was our light lunch. A really quirky pub serving lovely food.

The Longs Arms is a beautiful country pub serving cask ale and fresh seasonal food in a relaxed environment with warm and friendly service. We are located in the heart of the lovely village of South Wraxall â just 3 miles from the picturesque town of Brad
For my very lucky friends this is their local pub. I am insanely jealous as it is fantastic. I cannot fault it - service relaxed, casual and friendly, the food fresh, locally sourced and expertly prepared with great wines at reasonable prices all served in an old English country pub. The flavours are exceptional and the meals prepared with great attention to detail. The menu varies daily depending on what is in season and available so I guess one could go every week and enjoy something new. I don't need an excuse to visit my friends but if I did this would be it.
