The menu special on Wednesdays is a $10 Loaded Burger, so we decided to drop by BJ's for lunch. The wait staff has a good memory and recognized some in our group, which makes you feel welcome. The table collectively ordered four Loaded Burgers, two classic brisket burgers, and one each of the new menu offerings, a Bistro burger ("beef patty with applewood-smoked bacon, goat cheese crumbles, caramelized onions, tomatoes, spinach, pickled red onions and roasted garlic aioli on a toasted parker house bun") and a Mushroom Swiss Burger (beef patty with sautéed mushrooms, Swiss cheese, red onions, lettuce, tomatoes and roasted garlic aioli on a parker house bun). Everyone seemed to like their burgers. Although presentation was good and it was tasty, I did have one complaint: when I first picked my burger up getting ready to take a big, a very large amount of grease drained out of it and made a pool on my plate. I suppose some of it could have been from the Swiss cheese, but certainly not all of it. I'm not sure how they are cooking them, but it was a big turnoff.Burgers are served with a generous portion of fries (I learned yesterday you get free refills), which were crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle and perfectly seasoned. I can't imagine getting a refill. Service was fairly good and reasonable quick and at $10, the Loaded Burger is a good value. I think next time I'll try the Bistro version.

After his first experience bowling in Queens, NY, my 5 y/o wanted to go again soon so we bought Groupon for bowling in Hackensack, closeby where his grandma lives. We did get a chance to immediately use the Groupon (about $30 for two hours for up to 5 people) but a few weeks later we did. I believe you have a few months before it expires. We went there on a Saturday afternoon about 3 pm. The parking lot was pretty big and had quite a few spaces available for 3pm on a Saturday. There were a lot of people in the alley but not overcrowded by any means. The counter people were very nice. They had no problem accepting the Groupon and set us up by asking for our shoe sizes. I do like that the shoes were the Velcro type and not the laces as it is a lot easier to put on and take off, especially for the little ones. We were asked if we wanted a lane in the normally lit area or toward the darker end with the track colored lighting. We chose the darker end as the lights seemed pretty cool. The name-entering equipment seemed pretty old, as with most bowling alleys I've experienced, but got the job done. Lots of balls available at each station but you'll have to do some hunting to get the 8 and 6 balls. I saw lots of 12s and 14s. It would have been nice if the ball sizes/numbers were better organized, but it was 3pm and I would imagine throughout the course of the day that they would get mixed up anyway. Bowling was great. You can either have bumpers up or down, and not split up having the bumpers up for some players during a game while having them down for others in the same game. A worker, manually comes over to put the bumpers up and down as you request them. So you have to decide whether you want them up or down for the entire game. The workers were great. We had a few balls/pins stuck/out of place and workers were there within minutes to fix/clear the lane. There is a bar area that serves alcohol/beer as well as a food area which serves basic stuff like hot dogs, fries, pizza, wings etc... I added a photo of the menu in the photos section. You can also get drinks there but there are vending machines scattered along the backside of the alley selling snacks and drinks. Water in the machines were $1.50 and Gatorade was $2.50, not the cheapest but a helluva lot better than Movie theater prices. There was also a game room in the back which was pretty big. They had a change machine along with a good assortment of games including racing, basketball, guitar hero, fruit ninja and others. I thought it was a nice addition to keep the little ones (and adults) occupied in case they got bored or wanted something different other than bowling. We were able to bowl 4 and a half games with the three of us in the two hours that we were allowed with the Groupon. An overall great time. I would love to go back again.

I usually write Tripadvisor reviews for places I visit on vacation, not for places I frequent often. However, I must remedy that after reading Patricia P's misleading review. Andy's is a place for locals and out of towners, from which I am the latter. It is a very welcoming place and I don't find it clicky at all. As for the beers they have a wide range of styles available to suit all tastes, not just IPAs, both on tap and in the bottle and can cooler which has quite an extensive selection. As far as the beers on tap, the owner George is fastidious of his cleaning the beer lines on at least a weekly basis if not more often than that. No other beer bar in the area takes more care to ensure that your pint will taste as it should. Andy's only has 10 taps & one beer engine for the occasional cask conditioned ales they serve, but I would rather have a beer that tastes right than go to a place with dozens of taps with more choices and have a beer served on lines that are not properly cleaned on a regular basis which isn't satisfactory. Andy's tap list is always changing and there is no one beer that is always on tap there. As far as food goes, Andy's doesn't serve food. However, they have menus from many local places that deliver, including an excellent Mexican restaurant next door, Riviera Maya, that delivers your food you order very quickly. They make an outstanding burger and fries for those who don't like Mexican food. As another reviewer stated, Andy's is not a place to go if you want to watch a game as the TVs are small and quite often not even turned on. There is a digital juke box that has an extensive selection of music. The late great beer Guru, Michael Jackson called Andy's the best New York City metropolitan area pub. I couldn't agree more with that assessment. Andy's really is a hidden gem!

While traveling on a motor coach tour of NY City the Holiday Inn was the designated hotel for our stay. Often the restaurants attached to a hotel are not the best but in this instance we couldn't have had a better opportunity for dinning. One night during our visit we were on our own to choose the dinner venue. Many in our group chose Gabriel's and everyone I talked to enjoyed their meals. The cocktail and menu prices were very reasonable. All of our meals were plated well, more than adequate in serving size and most importantly tasted great. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was friendly, had a good sense of humor and served our meal without any hint of pretense. If we lived in the area we'd likely dine here often.
