I reveled in the Good Morning Burger (pork roll, fried egg and hamburger) with ho-hum french fries (better if they were fresh cut)$14.00. My spouse enjoyed a steer herder for $14.00 and others enjoyed the Mac and cheese burger and the brie burger all for 14 or $15. We had a very tasty spinach and artichoke dip ($10) and an order of fried pickles for $6.00. All in for four adults and a ten year old for $102.36.Service was superb at the lunch hour; prices were very affordable even in confiscatory Morristown. Food quality was above average but not gourmet. The hamburgers were offered ONLY rare, medium or well. I ordered mine rare and it came medium and my family ordered their's medium and they came well done. I have found that unless one goes to a true high end steak house, the "doneness" is whimsical at best. Same here. In sum, great service, creative menu, good food but not low cal or low fat. Be forewarned but enjoy the decadence.

Awesome view over golf course. Beer selection ok. Food average. Had raw oysters which were good, but a little pricey. Halibut was fair, but way over cooked. And pricey. EAting on deck over golf course made up for average food. Also hard to find, but plenty of parking

Indulge in the area's finest cuisine in a unique and lovely setting. An elegant display and collection of antiques, country English design furniture mixed with the rustic beauty of early Americans create an atmosphere of warmth and beauty that befits the
We had our Easter Brunch Buffet reservations limited this year by waiting too long to book , my mistake. I then searched and called Black Horse Tavern and they had a 10:30 opening. All good , a little early but all good. Well the place is nice. Food offered is poor. This was not a well payed out or thought of menu. The positioning of the buffet was in the bar area that was too tight. Food was a disappointment and the service was fair. I recommend that you train your staff on keeping the temperatures accurate between hot and cold foods. This place is a major pass......Thank you for your honest review. We are happy to hear you chose our restaurant to celebrate the holiday, but we are sorry you did not enjoy your time. We appreciate the feedback and we will send your notes along to the general manager and the staff to prevent this from happening again at the next buffet. Thank you again for your review. We hope you can give us another try in the future.

I didn't know quaint little villages like this still existed in suburban New Jersey. A quiet little Railroad Station accommodates passenger trains to NYC so visitors from Manhattan came leave their cars behind and ride right up to the front door of the Stirling. It is no longer a hotel but a neighborhood pub selling short order food & specials. The wooden building in picturesque surroundings is reminiscent of the old West or at least a Jersey of long long ago. I ordered a shaved Prime Rib with cheese sandwich on a club roll. The tasty sandwich contained quality beef for a modest price of $16.95. It came with "home made" potato chips which I did not care for. However, a lot of places are now substituting these chips for fries. They are over cooked and too spicy and my hunch is that they are not "home made" but are all made by the same distributor. Please folks, go back to fries. My wife had a Black Bean Burger which was for Vegans, with chipolte sauce. There were too other guests and our entire lunch with soft drinks only came to $65 for 4 people. The ratio of staff to patrons was high so service was prompt. The Stirling is the perfect spot if you are headed to The Great Swamp National Wildlife Reserve which is a short drive away.

I had avoided returning here for literally years (on previous experiences the service was just too, too slow) but decided to give it a shot again late one night, as late night options in Bernardsville are limited. Found myself pleasantly surprised. The burgers, salad, coleslaw (your typical pub fare) was great, the service friendly and attentive, and the vibe (this is clearly a local watering hole) upbeat. The only drawbacks are that parking might occasionally be hard to fine, even across the street in the train lot, and, when it is packed it can get loud. Outdoor seating is available. So if youâre looking for a convivial place with good food thatâs not too fancy or expensive consider The Station.

A nice place to dine with an ample menu and good service. I thought my burger was excellent. My only negative comment, I asked to substitute a side salad for my fries and was not informed that the substitution was $5 extra.
