Happened across this pub on a half term holiday when other places were full. Great food, family of four, everyone was very happy with their choices, great sized portions. Good range of gins for a small pub. Family friendly would definitely go back.

This is my local when visiting my in-laws & they are passionate about & have a great selection real ales, they also hold great beer festivals through the year. On this occasion we were celebrating the diamond anniversary of my in-laws & they could not have done more for us. A fantastic family meal in a specially decorated room big enough to allow friends to join us later for afternoon drinks & sandwiches. We could not have asked for more. The staff were awesome & worked tirelessly to give us a perfect afternoon. Food was outstanding.

We serve a range of Adnams beers as well as guest ales and Elgoodâs Black Dog. We are a pub that does food rather than a restaurant so donât expect anything fancy, just good homemade wholesome meals.
Lovely friendly atmosphere. Sara and Colin are good hosts. Small pub with a few dining tables and space for drinkers. We all had different food and every plate was tasty. Puddings home made. This is the place for those who like a main and pudding as they do not serve starters. For me that was a refreshing change as my preference is always main and pudding! Good price offer for two courses and a drink. All in all a good night out.

Sitting conveniently just off the A12, the pub is tucked into the heart of the Suffolk farming community and just a few miles from the coast within easy reach of Southwold. On approaching The Plough, youâd be mistaken for thinking it was a small rural pub
The food here is very nice, you can sit in the pub and eat or ask to go in to the resturant, for the price of the food it's very good have eaten here 6 times not had a bad meal, staff very nice. Would recommend

A group of friends had a mid week lunch after a long walk. I had the special of crispy chicken, salad, coleslaw and fries for £11.50. Full of flavours. All well cooked. The chicken, fries and coleslaw are homemade. Made welcome by the staff. The drinks and food are reasonably priced. Some of my friends had sandwiches which came with salad and crisp, they all said there sandwiches were very good and reasonably priced.

Pub Just South Of Beccles
Wholesome food and very good service. Small things let it down like the chips with the cod were typical french fries which any fast food restaurant serves. My partners salad had some brown leaves. Attention to detail ? Great choice of beers. Very nice pudding choice and the cheesecake was very tasty. If the details were addressed it would have been five stars. Cheap chips and brown lettuce do not impress.

Hubby and I have lived in Beccles for years, but never been to the white lion before. It was recommended by a friend from work, so we thought weâd give it a go.We were not disappointed. The setting is pretty and lit well outside, inside is a country pub vibe and there is a pub doggy to welcome you. He was gorgeous! The restaurant is set aside and is well decorated. The menu was vast and based on classics. Hubby had the pork belly and I had a salt and pepper chicken (very spicy so it was right up my street!). Both were delicious. Hubby also had créme brûlée with shortbread. All homemade and utterly delicious.Food was also well priced. Main was £11-16, starters around £6 and desserts the same.We will definitely be returning.

We enjoyed a really lovely evening meal in a charming friendly village pub. Great choice from the blackboard menu and well cooked tasty food in generous portions. I had sea bass with wild mushroom risotto and my husband enjoyed the Italian meatballs, with delicious tomato sauce and linguine pasta. What's not to like?Hello Joyce,Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a great review!Kind regards,The Wherry Inn
