Stopped in here recently to grab first half Ireland game. Good buzz about the place early in the am. Service quite friendly, very nice coffee. We went for the egg/avocado and the veggie breakfast. Food was average though and whilst veggie breakfast was plentiful on the plate certain elements were below par. Veggie sausages were grey which is not the most appetising of colours. Fried potatoes were undercooked and need more oil. Generally should have beans with a fry as too dry otherwise. The hollandaise on the eggs dish was not right and the avacado over ripe. The restaurant is really well appointed and comfortable. There is tap water/Ice on the bar and free newspapers which is a big plus in my book but the food needs some more TLC. Has potential to be an excellent place if it tweaks a few things.

Visited these premises on several occasions for food while passing through Gorey, but tonight we decided we would not return. We both ordered fish and chips and when it came it looked appetising enough and its fair to say that we both ate what was on the plate,(we were hungry) however the fish was a very small portion and I think that for â¬15.95 this was very poor value for money. We don't want a huge plate of chips, we want the main item to be extremely tasty and good value, and unfortunately it wasn't really either. Very disappointing.

Over visiting family and for the two previous nights we'd enjoyed great food and great service. Sadly, today, we went back and, again, the food was good but, unfortunately, the duo performing we permitted by the owners to sing Anti-British / Pro IRA songs. My wife and I walked out and won't be returning even though we're here for over a week. Our family members were embarrassed that a venue which relies on tourism, being the "first and last pub in Ireland", and especially trade from the UK would allow any act to perform songs of this nature if there was a possibility of British customers. The pub culture of Ireland is great and the music we enjoyed the previous night was outstanding but non political and it's shame this pub allows it...Hi MauriceWe are sorry that you felt this way on the evening in question so we launched an investigation into your claims.Firstly the band that were playing have been together for over 20 years and only sing ballads and traditional Irish songs.Secondly it seems some of our customers may have used some of their own lyrics over the bands lyrics while sininging with the band and this is what you may of heard.Unfortunately we cannot police every customer and on that evening we were very busy with food and drinks plus music goers, if you had brought this to our attention then we would of dealt with it swiftly. We are disappointed with your review as you had eaten with us for 3 nights as you reviewed that the food and service was great. So to give us 1 star due to our customers enjoying themselves a little too much was very disappointing and not to give us the chance to sort any problems you had on the night would avoided any negative reviews. We do hope that you are not put off by some bad singing and return for â the great food and Great Serviceâ.
