We visited here on a very rainy day with my daughter and her boyfriend and their 14 week old lab pup. Iâve never really been a dog person so I was a bit apprehensive. They were so friendly and accommodating. Food was good and well priced and the whole experience very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this place. Great staff nice atmosphere and good food. Thank you so much, hope to see you again.RegardsAnna

we do food every day Monday to Saturday from 11.30 to 3pm then 5pm to 9pm and on Sundays 12noon to 6.30pm
An extensive and varied menu with extra daily specials. Food was very good quality and the portions were very generous - my friend had a "small" portion and it wouls hardly fit on the plate!Staff efficient and friendly. For a Tuesday lunchtime in September, it was pretty busy with a steady stream of diners. Will certainly be back.

Had a roast beef lunch, the vegetables were fresh and home cooked, tasty gravy, nice roasts and perfect Yorkshire puddings. Extra gravy served at the table too. Desserts were nice, cheesecake was very good with fresh berries. Portions are generous. Service was excellent, friendly waitress and bar staff. This isnât a gastro pub but it serves honest food that has flavour and is cooked and presented fine for family dining.

Looking for somewhere else to eat! This place is absolutely amazing, yes first impressions tell you to run, run like the wind in the opposite direction however ignore the car park and smokers outside and head straight into the restaurant. In there you will find food to rival any Newcastle restaurant charging twice the price, good quality ingredients and chefs who know exactly what to do with them. I've been here dozens of times now, from lunchtimes with tandoori wraps and beef stotties through to pizza the size of your arm and chicken kiev to die for. I wouldn't normally order something as boring as a kiev but every time I go now it gets harder to decided what to get, this one time (at band camp....nope that's a different story) I gave up and just randomly selected the kiev.It was better than winning the lottery, a full kiev sliced on the plate with excellent chips, salad and a jug of garlic butter to pour over!!There has only ever been one place in my reviews to rival the Fox Cover and that was Niblicks at Arcot Hall, even that, in its heyday was given a good run for its money by Fox Cover.

The Old Ash Dene in Ashington is a family-friendly pub with a big heart! A great atmosphere, smiley staff, delicious food, and good beer make us the kind of pub you want to spend time in. And when itâs nice, you can sit out on the patio and chill. Choose
So this is not the first time I walked in the pub at 6.30 pm and half the pubs tables are reserved and the place practically empty! this absolutely grates me, every table I went to sit at was 'table reserved' tables still empty come the time the tables reserved for.. utterly ridiculous. Come on Ash Dene sort it outhello thanks for your feedback the tables are requested for the charity quiz nights which are very busy why don't you just ring and reserve one yourself on a Tuesday this is the only night this happens and you are able to sit on those tables until a specified time sorry if this causes any inconvenience

The Portland Hotel Bar & Grill is a 18 Bed hotel, bar and restaurant situated in Ashington Northumberland. We serve homemade food by our team of dedicated chefs locally sourced where possible. The bar stocks over 10 beers, larger and ciders on draught as wel
We have been here a few times as it really does offer a lovely Sunday dinner. Visited 1st September and ordered two small & 2 medium carvery. Choice of veg was good; chefs were friendly and hardworking. Only gripe I had was the beef was so tough I couldnât eat it. Ordered a slice of salted caramel cheesecake; absolutely lovely. Little lady with blonde hair and glasses on the bar was pleasant enough, as was the man with the cool trousers who took us to our table. All in all a good visit and the prices are pretty reasonable. Can I suggest one thing though; the lighting is really dim and I think it would benefit from some more wall lighting just to brighten it up a bit as it is quite sombre.

Steakhouse and carvery, selling fantastic burgers and smokehouse, with some of the best steak at tremendous prices.
Spontaneous decision to go out for a steak but more importantly a good steak, and the latter in Northumberland can be a challenge. After some searching we opted to go for Moo Moo at the Conchie pub. Iâm so glad I did, firstly to be honest from the outside itâs not going to win any awards however I didnât come here to admire the outside, itâs the steaks that drew me and I wasnât let down. The service was top dollar which when mixed with probably one of the best tasting steaks Iâve had in a Northumberland and Newcastle made for a fantastic decision. Plus when you go to a lot of steak houses these days the chips are if the frozen type that are bought from cash and carry outlets for pennies. Agree though they are homemade and taste like it. The whole experience was first class and I highly recommend eating here if you like your steaks
