This was the only meal in 7 days that I would say had enough vegetables and potatoes as part of the meal. Good value, able to buy a beer too, very welcome after a long hard walk!

We popped in to the Goil Inn whilst visiting the village.Living ânext doorâ in Arrochar, it is nice to have this little gem of a village to visit when the sun is shining.. non sunny days are available too.This was however our first stop off at the Goil pub... First impressions were good, with a polite chap offering us a table by the window - it was packed outside. Drinks order taken, he returned to take our order.. steak sandwich/chips & Mac n Cheese for me, with bacon - never had it with bacon before.. Food was very tasty, with the mac ânâ cheese quite excellent.Three different members of staff visited our table during our visit and all were very pleasant, checking food and enough to drink etc...Really nice visit and we will definitely return again soon... may try a cold wet winter evening next time - I bet itâs a grand atmosphere in the Inn.. Thé food has no taste. The rice served cold. I had the tiniest piece of salmon for 15 pound and the smallest dish of vegetables. It is a shame that a hotel that serves the hikers along the WHW uses his monopoly to serve such bad food for the hikers .Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are so sorry to read that you were not satisfied with your meal. We aim to have every dish served out to be enjoyed. Please be aware if you had voiced this to us we would have endeavoured to rectify the situation with an alternative meal. We hope to see you again.

We stayed at an other property and have eaten our dinner here. The drinks selection was good with local beers. The food, well, it could have been better. We had the salmon starter, which was OK. Then the hake with wild mushrooms (tiny piece of fish) and the venison pie (with a blob of mash, no vegetables). Then we had the cheeseboard, which was OK, too. Would have been better if some special or unique Scottish cheeses would have been offered. Service was also OK, though it was not easy to get the attention of the serving staff.
