First visit to Arnold though often in Nottingham centre for work. Great find of a pub friendly though pre-occupied staff, often found smoking outside when you need a drink! Nice kept cider., far better than the Weatherspoons 5 mins walk away, but not really worth the walk!

We havenât been here for a few years- the decoration was very tired and service poor last time. Visited today and glad we booked as it was full. The pub has been painted and is much smarter. The menu is still full of choice and pleased to see more Veggie options. Also there is a new system of ordering and paying at the bar which we personally preferred - the poor service a few years ago was a reason we stopped going. Excellent food and a most enjoyable visit. The Greeter (male didnât get his name ) was excellent and very efficient despite being very busy. We will go again.Thank you for giving us another visit. Glad to hear that we have improved our service. We have only recently changed over to this service sytle are and are still looking at further ways to improve this. many thanks again fo the review and hope that you will become a regular visiter again.

This venue used be very good for quality, choice and value for money. We have been dining here for a many years, often twice a week, but have noticed a gradual decline in the quality, and size of meals. There will always be days when things do not go well and in the past the management and kitchen have dealt with problems promptly and efficiently. It would seem that we have recently reached an all time low, with problems on every visit. Cold food. Wrong food. Poorly cooked food. Long waits for meals... especially if complaining. Inconsistancy of food portions. And things do not seem as though they will improve.Sadly we feel we have to say goodbye.I'm sorry we've not been able to meet your expectations on this occasions, but please do give us a try again as this is not our usual standard. If you are willing to give us another chance, please get in touch at 0115 960 4078 to speak to our manager directly.

We went for Sunday lunch and left feeling very disappointed. The seating was very cramped making it difficult for elderly or infirm diners. Although the waitress was pleasant the service was very slow - we waited 45 minutes for a steak and chips and a Thai Chicken Larb Gai. The chicken was tasty and was ok but the steak wasnât good and the chips were soggy. It wasnât expensive at all but neither was it good value.

Me and my wife visited the Friar Tuck for a meal on a Sunday evening. I ordered the Go XL surf and turf and I was very disappointed with it. The steak I ordered was medium rare, but what I received was far from it. The steak came out so tough and chewy, and it was more cooked as medium to well done. This really put a downer on what was a very good weekend we just had.The service we received was also very poor. When our food came out of the kitchen and to our table, the waitress who had been there for 4 weeks just stood next to us holding a meal, never made any effort to inform us which meal it was, or even say any words at all. We had to ask what it was and who it was going too. After we had finished we had to wait a very long time for our plates to be taken away as well, giving g that the pub was very quite we thought it wouldn't take long, bbu we were wrong. Eventually when the server came back and took our plates away, she again didn't say anything regarding how our meal was (which wasn't good) and walked away. We were very disappointed with our experience this evening.Dear Camper08206338237,We want to extend our sincerest apologies corcerning all the issues that you have faced. We pride ourseleves in maintaining the highest quality standards for our customers. So, we hope you will give us and opportunity to discuss this futher with you.

The cocktail masterclass was so much fun and such good value for money. We got lots of booze included and played games. Matt was brilliant. He went above and beyond to make sure that we all enjoyed ourselves and had great banter. He needs a pay rise!!! Thank you to the whole team :) I would definitely recommend. Ps. Sorry for all of the confetti mess we left!Hi Laursmitchell, thank you so much for your feedback and for taking the time to write us a great review! I'm so happy to hear you had a great time with us and we look forward to your next visit. See you soon!

Some confusion with the Groupon voucher meant we ordered 2 courses but still had to pay for our desserts as the Groupon was for starter and main only, not main and dessert. Disappointing as we told the waitress when we arrived that we had the 2 course Groupon and ordered our food and nothing was said until our bill arrived. We didn't have the starters that were included but still charged for the desserts. The food wasn't great, the burger tasted gristly. Ice cream sundaes were very basic. Quite disappointed after reading the great reviews and won't return. We are sorry you were disappointed. Unfortunately it states on the terms and conditions on the Groupon site and also on the voucher what is included in the deal and that it can not be exchanged for anything else without a surcharge being paid. We are sorry you didn't enjoy the food and hope you reconsider about trying us again
