Reviews on Pub food in Are, Jamtland and Harjedalen, Sweden. With 100 pistes served by 44 lifts, Åre is Sweden's most popular resort and the biggest ski area in the Nordic countries, with everything from very easy beginner runs to very challenging expert slopes. Miles of cross-country tracks and a dedicated snowboard park are but a few of the other great offerings here.

Cheap dining space with horrible waiting. Totally disinterested personell who even missed out on asking whether we were interested in desserts. Their loss. Food was average as we've come to know it from O'Learys (regular chain in Sweden). The beers are ok and if you have time and feel like leaving them more undeserved money you can always play some pool or go bowling. They even have an indoor miniature golf course. In short - don't come here for the food or service. Come for the beer and games (large screen tele for your sports as well).

Good central location to the slopes on eastern side of the slopes, Are Bjornen.Tasty food prepared quickly. Friendly staff. Good seating area outside which gets the sun most of the day. Good to sit, eat, drink and watch the activity at the bottom of the slopes and T bar lift.

We ate here but the bar area looked really good if you only want a drink. The staff were very friendly and helpful, explaining the menu as you can have different sizes of dishes for starter, main or share. The food was very good with unusual flavours. Only negatives would be we were not able to book a table as there is a drop in policy and the very small portions for the cost leaving the guys in our party still hungry. Dining area has a great vibe and we were seated by the window with a fab view over the small town square complete with a pretty lit up Christmas tree.

This place is great with a lovely relaxed vibe, welcoming and not-pushy staff who translated the menu for us, with a good selection of alcohol-free beers and best of all THE BEST cheeseburger I have ever had; a light, good-sized bun, a mix of 3 meats (pork, brisket, and beef) to make a super succulent but not too juicy, slightly hickory tasting burger cooked how you like with cheese, red onion served together with fries, home made ketchup and dijon mayonnaise. A really great place. The burger cost 189skr so not cheap by British standards but about the going rate here in à re but definitely worth it.

Nice bar, convenient to the Bergbahn, does serviceable burgers and has a nice vibe and good beer. Avoid the Philly cheesesteak. It's not terrible, but it's not great either. Wrong sort of bread (some sort of subway style ciabatta/brioche collision rather than a proper hoagie roll or mini-baguette, too many peppers (who needs them) and cheese a bit lost amongst it all (personally I like whiz, but a sharp flavoursome cheese will also do). I also like a choice of with onions or without, and when they come in the form of some poor cousin of sauerkraut rather than nicely browned bits its a definite without. So yes, I guess I have some pent up disappointment with that "cheesesteak", but I still enjoyed myself and my wife's burger was fine and serviceable.
