Cooking on a stone. Order steak, tuna, or shrimp, and they bring you a stone, which must be heated to 400 or 500 degrees (maybe more) and you cut your tuna (which we ordered) to your size specification, grease up the stone with oil or butter and cook the meat to your specifications. I have never encounter this before. Cooking smoke fills the room. But the stone cooking is just one item out of hundreds on the menu. A note to the wise, order less than half of what you think you might eat. The neighborhood where this resteraunt is located reminded me of the polyglot populations, populated by various legal immigrant Europeans after World War II.

The best local Portuguese restaurant and bar outside of Newark. Always tasty favorites and specials. My favorite red sangria. Love the special grilled swordfish with tomato and mozzarella. Sandra knows her regulars and goes out of her way to ensure great service and Paul the owner will always make sure your meal is to your liking.

About VinhusVinhus Restaurant and Lounge is the newest Portuguese Restaurant in Roselle Park, New Jersey. Vinhus opened his doors in June 2011 and quickly became one of Roselle Park's best restaurant attracting clients from all over the northern New Jerse
We went to Vinhus with a groupon coupon. There was a nice variety on the menu and the food was very good. Portions were large. Service was friendly but slow. We had to call the waiter to come over and finally take our order. There was a piano player and background music would have been very nice if there were not small children running around the restaurant screaming and yelling. I felt the management should have said something to the parents who seemed to oblivious to other patrons in the restaurant Waitress said Sunday nights were like this.. I would probably go back on a week day if I get another good coupon since prices are higher than I usually pay.

Went today for lunch because I've heard great things about the food. Sat at the bar, the worst part was when the bartender grabbed the garbage can to empty the recycables into a machine..she touched the bottom of the garbage can and never washed her hands after. She then made someone's cappuccino and drink and touched the rims of their cups. She also dropped of the sangria clean pitchers on the floor and picked it up and put it right next to the clean ones. The food was good but my rice was cold. I've had comparable take out here in Elizabeth. I wouldn't go back. I tipped her $10 for a $40 meal and she didn't even say that you. She took my money and never even said goodbye.
