Coordenadas GPS N37º28'20.00" W7º41'40.04" horário terças a domingo 09.00/24.00
We came upon Sitio do Costume almost by accident. It is tucked away at the top of the street and singularly unimposing viewed from the outside. But step inside... An impressive range of dishes beautifully prepared and cooked. First rate service and all at modest prices. A gem. Give it a try.

Arrived at the anchorage late evening on Sunday. Most restaurants nearby were not opened for dinner. Was lucky to be recommended to this restaurant which is about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the anchorage in Rio Guadiana. It is situated on Praia Fluvial, across the bridge from the town square. We were expecting a snack bar but it turned out to be a little gem for us. The boss, who speaks English, Portuguese and German, listed out the selections they have for today. He used to run the tavern by the riverside facing the Rio Guadiana. All three of us decided on grilled black pig. There were 3 different cuts. I wasn't sure the name of the cut I chose. I just told him that I wanted tender meat. Grilling took place next to the river. It took a really long time. At least 30 minutes. Luckily we were not in a hurry. The wait was worthwhile. Meat was tender although some parts were a little too salty. Enjoyed the meal very much. When we left the restaurant at 22:00, they had just finished another grill order for another table. It was good to know that there is a restaurant open till late at night since most restaurants in town are closed at night (we only saw O Camane facing the town square, open for dinner on Sunday). The restaurant also has free WiFi.

Just came in this restaurant as it looked simple and nice. Well...simple it is with literally no choice whatsoever youâre better off going to a supermarket, besides the fact that the waiter was also not polite . We asked if they had any side dishes as I canât eat salad and they said no even annoyed! Terrible service and very very poor offer...will never come here again of course

This restaurant looks inviting from outside. Food was quite average, fried calamari dish was so poor and my "special Portuguese tuna" salad was good but nothing special, big portion though. The big down side was that when we got the bill we found out that we had been charged nearly 10 euros for some starters they offer you without asking and which you think are for free but these are NOT FOR FREE, in fact you'll be charged even if you didn't eat them.... That's not nice, we felt cheated. In a nutshell, this place is good for the location, nothing special for the food and they charge you a good amount of money for food you might not want/like. Better places in Alcoutim.Â

This great new restaurant is clean and modern with friendly people who speak perfect English. The food is superb, our kids had Turkey and my wife the dish of the day, pork cheeks. I had an excellent fresh golden bream in lime and caper sauce. Drinks and desserts good too.The prices are fantastic even by Portuguese standards.Thoroughly recommended.Thank you.

On 14 th December 2018 I tried to eat bochechas. (porc cheeks). The normally delicios meet was completely overboiled, had the consistence of toast bread laying 2 days in ketchup. Also hardly oversalted. The french fries looked like sombode else had already eaten them before. The rice was o.k.The green salad had all over brown edges and a bitter taste. All came on one plate, the salad dressing was floating into french fries, rice and meet. So, today, a real nightmare.

Localizado na vila de Alcoutim, com uma vista fantastica sobre o rio Guadiana. Venha provar os nossos petiscos. located in the village of Alcoutim with a fantastic view over the Guadiana River. Come and try our specialties
We ate here as a group of six before a local zip line experience. The choice and quality of the tapas was very good and the prices very reasonable. Dishes were served quickly. Portions were good and seven tapas was plenty for everyone.Highly recommended and a good addition to the border passenger ferry river crossing and exhilarating zip line back (in season)
