Find out what Polish restaurants to try in Zgorzelec. Zgorzelec [zɡɔˈʐɛlɛt͡s] ( listen) (German: Görlitz, Upper Sorbian: Zhorjelc, Czech: Zhořelec) is a town in south-western Poland with 32,322 inhabitants (2012). It lies in Lower Silesian Voivodeship (from 1975–1998 it was in the former Jelenia Góra Voivodeship). It is the seat of Zgorzelec County, and also of the smaller district of Gmina Zgorzelec (although it is not part of the territory of the latter, as the town is an urban gmina in its own right). Zgorzelec is located on the Lusatian Neisse river, on the post-1945 Polish-German Neisse border adjoining the German town of Görlitz, of which it constituted the eastern part up to 1945.

What a lovely surprise find. Beautiful interior ,cosy, candlelit even in daytime. Good range on menu and what we had was excellent. Very friendly helpful service. A welcome change after spending time in Czech republic( unhappy folk).

This restaurant sits at the bank of the Neisse in the town of "Görlitz" (a pity that this city is divided by a borderline.) on the side of Poland and then suddenly the city is called Zgorzelec which does mean the same.Back to the restaurant. I had a quick business lunch in this company and I enjoyed the polish food they served. The Zupa was fine and tasted well. The main dish was served fast and was very tasty.Cost were, comparing to other parts of Europe, considerably low. They have a terrace outside, from there you have a lovely view on the Neisse and Görlitz, nice , renovated buildings. They offer also rooms to stay, which I didn't use.For food, give it a try when you are in the area!

The place and atmosphere is great! The staff is nice and attentive. Soup de poison was prepared polish style and was very original and interesting=super tasty! My guests chose meat dishes, which were very average:( The portions are too big:(

We walked over the pedestrian bridge from Gorlitz and found this great little restaurant. The food was incredible. It was authentic Silesian cuisine. There were meat dishes and pierogis. There was also some really delicious regional soups. This restaurant is cozy and tables are few. We had some challenges ordering but a delightful server- who also seemed to be doing everything else as well- made it happen. We were pleasantly surprised by the cost that in polish currency worked out to about $35 for 4 of us!

The restaurant seems too much fancy, I would prefer something more simple, but the food was amazing. Very good prices and huge rations.

The restaurant is just across the pedestrian bridge from Old Town Gorlitz. As others note the menu, which is available in English, is full of regional dishes. My meal which included drinks, soup, appetizer, and main dish was delicious and very reasonably priced. The wait staff was courteous and spoke English.

Always good for a new culinary experience we ventured from our base in Görlitz across the river Neisse and, after getting directions from very friendly locals, finally found this place. They do need to do something to avoid potential patrons unfamiliar with the area just passing by. Set in a residential house, it is very easy to kiss and both, patrons and owners would miss out, the first on a very pleasant surprise and the latter on the revenue and promotion. The food is very good, tastefully arranged, and polish cousine, albeit at times quite basic, very palatable. And that's were the secret seems to lie. No overcomplicated attempts to create something new no matter what, just plain and simple food. Sorry, not plain, figure of speech, as the food was all but plain. The coffee was quite reasonable although traditionally Polish "brewed" in the cup, also called Turkish, but from very good beans. Overall very enjoyable, clean and extremely friendly with very good kitchen at embarrassingly low cost. 6 of 10 and sure a stop over again next time in Europe.

This Restaurant is not only the only choice if you want to have a dinner after 8 pm in Görlitz, it's also the very best one anyway! Terrific cuisine! Also the waitresses are very friendly and transform you any special request. No problems with English or German language. On top I love the modern cozy charme of the ambience. I was there a couple of times - always very pleased. Don't forget to reserve to make sure you'll get a table. ;-)
