Old school Flushing slice joint still serving up slices. Lucia was around the corner from Gloria's which was one of the best of Queens. Lucia has that old school taste that is hard to describe. It's a perfect ratio of sauce to cheese. You can taste the oregano and basil in the sauce. The crust is crispy. That's old school NY pizza.

This bustling Pizza "parlor" is located in a busy shopping mall off the Whitestone Expressway in "Flushing-Whitestone-College Point" .They serve an excellent slice of thin crust pizza unlike ant you may have experienced before. The staff here is "gruff but loveable". In other words--take you pie and git! Too busy here for small talk.

We are just home from the very best of customer service and dining. From the moment we stepped into Patriciaâs, we were met by friendly, attentive staff, a vibrant atmosphere and complimentary appetisers of bread, olive oil and thin pizza slices. We ordered the meat lasagna and the pasta carbonara - both tasted excellent. However, I had to ask for the lasagna to be heated up as it was not hot enough for me. The waiters profusely apologised, couldnât do more to accommodate my request and returned quickly with my food. We were offered complimentary coffees/tea and desserts for the inconvenience when there was really no need at all. We really think that the service here is exceptional. Well done to all - it seems like such a tight knit, family style business, where the workers are good to one another and their customers! We would definitely return again!
Staffed by Italians, an Italian food menu, and a pizza that misses the mark. How could that happen? While all pizzas in the counter look good (they sell by the slice as well as sit down dining or whole pizza take out), they did not taste that good.. My pizza (regular w/cheese) looked ok, the crust was fine, the cheese ok, but the sauce - there was the problem. Sorry, but it was almost tasteless. Maybe Pizza Hut & Papa John are worse, but Gino's was far from great - it certainly did not have that REAL Italian taste. I don't rely on the toppings to make the mark - the basic pizza should be able to carry itself.
I have traveled and sampled pizzas by many shops, but none compare to the perfectly baked round slice of cheesy heaven! Each pie (or slice) comes out crispy, with enough tomato sauce to let the cheese just barely float on top.Don't stop at just trying their pizza, there are wraps, burgers, parmigiana sandwiches, full plates of pasta or seafood; all prepared in front of your eyes. My favorite happens to be their lasagna, which does not skimp on the cheese, pasta or meat!If you are lucky, you can stop by and hear the workers having a lively discussion with the patrons. Whether it is about football (American or FIFA), the news of the day or nothing at all, it is sure to be entertaining.

We visited Patsyâs for a weekend lunch. The place was empty, but, ok, determined to get some good gourmet pizza. The decor and ambiance is inviting and you would expect to succeed here.We order the regular pie with some toppings and a soup to start. I tell my two-year old daughter that Iâll take her over to watch the chef make the pizza. We walk over to the oven area. The pizza makerâs back is turned. Then I hear it. âClip, clip, clip.â Is that what I think I hear? Yes, the cook is cutting his finger nails in front of the pizza dough and toppings. Stunned, I ask the waitress if that really just happened. She seemed just as shocked. The cook then places the nail clipper on a shelf as if it was its permanent home. And then he proceeds to handle the pizza ingredients as if nothing happened. Not even a hand wash.Still stunned, I asked my wife if we should leave. I looked for another employee to make sure they were aware of this episode. The entire staff was on notice by this point. The pizza cook is still working, bare hands and all. I guess I would have expected several different things to happen by then â e.g., dismiss the chef.I guess we are also too hungry and helpless at this point and the toddler wanted her pizza. We decide weâll eat quickly and leave.Back at the table, the pizza arrives. No soup yet, so I cancel it. The pizza is not bad at all. A little soggy, but tasty. However, quite hard to erase the thought of unclean hands or, worse, nail clippings. At this point, we do get a healthy dose of apologies from the staff. The meal was fully comped, the missing soup was packed to go, and a $25 gift card was thrown in. The waitress was very sweet. This was a nice classy move and briefly restrained me from writing this review. Nonetheless, I felt obligated to share this story. If you visit, I might stroll by the pizza kitchen to take in the action, or, maybe not, if ignorance is bliss. We had only been to Patsy's once before when it first opened years before and now we certainly have had our last meal there. If you are looking for solid gourmet pizza, there are better (and likely cleaner) options not far away â e.g., Grimaldiâs.
Pizza here is great, as is the pin wheels ( pepperoni) yummy. This place is always busy at lunch time, so get here early. Staff friendly. Pete is the Best.

Cascarinoâs Grilled Srimp Salad was delicious with its fresh big shrimps and perfect tasting and textured balsamic vinaigrette. My husband enjoyed his grilled chicken with salad very much.Their complimentary bread was served warm which appreciate but with its texture and taste, it is not one of the best bread.Service is speedy, friendly and staff are attentive!

After visiting the botanical gardens, feeling peckish and craving pizza we checked our go to on-line adviser and off we drove 20 minutes to this homey pizzeria. Servers smiled and warmly greeted us as we entered. The space appears small but there was a sunny welcoming outdoor dining area. We felt as if we were dining at the home a a friend. My slice had the requirements of good pizza; thin crispy crust with a hint of salt that crunches just a bit when I sliced my incisors through it with a thin layer of cheese that when pulled from my teeth formed a string from my mouth to the slice. A light layer of sauce added a bit of acid and sweetness that enhanced the flavors. The pizza was not oily. Priced at $3.25; a bit expensive.OK, now the CALZONES; the best I ever had. A variety of these cheese stuffed breads were available. I had the broccoli rabe. It was huge, enough for dinner. The crust was nicely thin yet thick enough to hold the savory ingredients, slightly salty filled with mozzarella cheese and fresh tasting broccoli rabe. I side of red sauce for dipping added sweet, salty moisture. My husband had the chicken parm. calzone; he gobbled it up so quickly, I just know he enjoyed it. Each were reasonably priced at $6.50Things to know, ample parking, cash only, ATM available and no delivery.
