We went here before a movie. We split a pizza and a Chicken Francaise entree. The Soup was cheddar broccoli. Very good cheese flavor. The Chicken Francaise was great after adding a little grated cheese. It was a very generous portion. The pizza was good. There was a generous amount of cheese on it. The server was friendly and professional. The only aspect not giving 5 stars is because the soup oyster crackers were stale and we did not get bread but other tables did.

Village Pizza III provides Pizza, Sandwiches, Carry Out Service and Dine-in Service to the Red Hook, NY area.
We were walking around town and decided to âgrab a slice.â The restaurant was very casual, no servers but ample tables. They were fairly busy on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered at the counter and took a seat. The prices were very reasonable and the food is good. We had plain cheese slices that had a tasty sauce and the ratio of sauce to cheese on a crispy crust was spot on.

I've eaten here several times since Lucali opened (consistently very good) with its uniquely designed ovens. Always disappointed in steamed-in-a-box pizza, I've resisted buying top quality pizza as takeout for years. However, due to unexpected circumstances, last night i got a takeout pizza from Lucali. What joy to discover IT TRAVELS VERY WELL. Even after twenty minutes in the box, it was remarkably delicious. The house-made ingredients are excellent. How this excellence was maintained almost to perfection after a car trip, I do not know. But it was!

Inconsistent was my last review. The place is close so we tend to keep trying. But, it's good then bad...good then bad. Lately, they seem overwhelmed when you call. You get a very brisk female answering the phones with a rushed 'please hold' before you can say ANYTHING. Then you hold for awhile...then you give your order and you get 'it'll be an hour/half...CLICK!' You have no time to agree or disagree to that timing. Huh? An hour and half for a damn pizza? So, I call back, again put on hold, this time longer to where I figured I was forgotten about. My call back is to simply ask if we can pick the pizza up to make it quicker, maybe 40 minutes'ish?. She says matter-of-factly; 'probably not'. Whatever! I cancelled the order and called another local place. It took 30 minutes and they were friendly...as in... they appreciated our business instead of acting annoyed by it. These guys need more than '2 brothers'...and the girl that answers the phone. She is obviously exasperated and unhappy there.

While visiting my parents they wanted pizza so we got two pizzas. The place is your typical pizza joint with no real atmosphere to speak of other than institutional. We got a meat lovers and a meatball with onion. Both pies were good, the crust was also very good, not super thin, but it had taste and good texture. I was going to say the staff was friendly but after a being down south I will now say the staff was pleasant. Will visit again when in the area.

Pizza is bad assed, spinach rolls are just awesome. Family owned business and prices are reasonable. It's a win win. Although their dining room is a bit dated it doesn't take away from the quality of the good. Best pizza in Saugerties!

With so many superb pizza options in Saugerties and so many conflicting opinions about them, it's hard to know where to go. My strategy is to first decide what type of pizza I want and then pick the pizzeria based on that. Village Pizza is my go-to pizzeria when I've got a hankering for a tomato basil pie with extra garlic. It's also my choice when looking for quieter dining. Their back dining room is very nice and a more relaxing experience. The cheesy garlic bread is always a nice prelude to the main pie event. For a quick slice the front storefront is nice since there's always a variety of fresh by-the-slice pies waiting for you.

I know better than to expect really great food at "Italian Restaurants" in the United States. It is just not fair to compare different type of food. Nonetheless, I always expect good Veal Parmigiana for some reason since you just cannot get that in Italy at all, so no comparison problems. It was mediocre, barely acceptable. The Montepulciano was of poor quality. I don't mind paying more for decent wine, but there was no option as far as I saw for a better quality Montepulciano. I had fusilli with the veal which was also mediocre. The included salad was minuscule and poor. So that was the food. The service was excellent with attentive waiters and very efficient. The hostess was also very nice and accommodating. The atmosphere was very nice.
We always stop in for pizza to go when we're in Tivoli. The pizza is great and reasonably priced. Not much atmosphere in the small dining area, but we always take out anyway.

This place rocks! Cannot imagine what the recent reviewer could be talking about....that Slices has "slipped?? Simply order a Pizza 'Diane' and see for yourself. My family is particularly in love with any of the Grandma pizzas these folks make. Saugerties would be much less of a destination without Slices around. Just sayin'!
