We have been customers of the Grotto for years and were slightly sceptical when the business changed hands a year or so ago. We could not be more pleased! Far more consistency, more options, super friendly! We order from her almost weekly! Quirky, good vibes, good food! It's a winner!

I have been here several times over the past few months, and I have always gotten a couple of slices of their pizza, which is very good. But yesterday I wanted to try something different, so I got their Veggie Grinder: a sandwich with pesto, mozzarella, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, red onion, and feta cheese served with a bag of chips. I had 2 Towns Ciderhouse BrightCider to drink. It was all very good, and I sat at a table that looks out at Main St, which was perfect people-watching for the Halloween Parade that Ashland puts on every year. I definitely recommend Martolli's, not only because their food is good and reasonably priced, but the people that work there are very nice as well.
The economy, cut rate pZA places...the perfect storm. It added up to no more Figaros...we enjoyed this place for years with its fast, hot and good tasting pZA. We are sorry to see them go.

The outdoor patio is restful even though it's on Main Street, and Pie & Vine looks welcoming. (The grape vines in front are putting out tender tendrils!) But I must say the food was disappointing. I've had a marvelous pizza there in the past, but the "beet pie" was dry dry dry - brittle crust, dried-out beets, frazzled goat cheese. The roasted garlic was okay but even that seemed tasteless. My husband's spaghetti dish gave the impression of having been half-cooked beforehand, the pasta in a starchy tangle. The roasted tomatoes certainly had taste (spicy, salty), but the dish was not really appetizing. There's a very small selection of wines by the glass, and though the Merlot I had was quite nice I would have appreciated a wider choice than just two reds and two whites (I think). The wait staff seemed run off their feet. Not their fault, of course ...
hubby saw an angelo's pizza commercial on tv and decided we would try it next time we went to medford for medical appointments. so we did.i walked in thinking i would i would have the salad bar. after checking it out, i decided against it. the ingredients didn't look appetizing, nor were there very many good ones. so i settled for my back up, chicken, a 3-piece chicken selection. i didn't realize it came w/fries, which i don't eat. and good thing. they were not good. greasy, tasteless, mushy. and the chicken - so well done, i mean, SO WELL DONE! the pieces had hardly any chicken meat on them. if you're one to eat the deep fried, well done skin, you'd do well. i don't and didn't.hubby was so disappointed with his pizza. the sauce tasted like ragu. the sausage (i tasted it myself) was nasty. not the kind of italian sausage i've ever tasted. the crust was totally overcooked and had less flavor than the sauce on top of it.
