Fully licensed cafe/restaurant located in the heart of Tairua. Woodfired pizzas, all day menu, dinner menu, sun-drenched courtyard. Tairua is a key stopping point for people traveling to destinations around The Coromandel. Equally, it is a much-loved loca
Visited for coffee and mid-morning snacks. Very impressed with the warm welcome and engaging service. Our scones and snacks were tasty and the coffee was excellent with the barista skills well above average. Food servings to other tables looked appetising. Will return and recommended.

Same owners, same place, different name. Come join us at Pauanui Wharf for our sixth summer season in a row. Enjoy authentic wood fired pizzas in an idyllic outdoor atmosphere with Pizzas at the Wharf Pauanui. Our mobile Wood fired Pizza truck and Caravan
Our extended family of 18 went to the wharf end of Pauanui for pizza on the beach. The staff seemed worn out and more than a bit grumpy. Long busy days tends to do that. The Pizzas were tasty and enjoyed by all but at around $25 each a dozen pizzas was an expensive meal. If the market is prepared to pay that much for a takeaway meal then they will be back again next Christmas but I feel it is a bit rich to turn up in a van for a couple of weeks over the busy summer period to cash in. I feel sorry and a little bit beholding to the local restaurants who pay rent for 12 months a year and have to survive the winter. If we don't support them we won't have anywhere to eat for 50 weeks of the year. Thanks for the review and I am glad you enjoyed the Pizzas. I must apologise for us being grumpy on the day as one of our key factors is maintaining a friendly atmosphere, this is second only to turning out very high quality wood fired pizzas made with top quality ingredients. Some days we encounter challenging conditions ( heat ,wind ) and other circumstances on our exposed and bare sight. These need to be dealt with immediately and yes we do get worn down and we are at the end of our season but no excuses. We would prefer you encountered friendly happy staff and had a great experience. In relation to turning up onsite it is our fourth season operating at the wharf and we have lived full time in Pauanui for 12 years. You will see a majority of the other food outlet owners and their staff down at our Pizza Caravan getting pizzas from time to time. Our family often frequent Pauanui businesses throughout the year and I think you will find other businesses in Pauanui are more than happy to have us operating in peak season to offer choice and variety at this time. Pizzas at the wharf was designed to service a very special area of Pauanui and offer some sort of basic beachfront dining experience in Holiday periods.
