Reviews on Pizza food in Springfield, Illinois, United States. The spirit of the "Land of Lincoln" is nowhere else so alive as it is in Springfield, one time home to old Honest Abe himself and present home of the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, the Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices State Historic Site, the Old State Capitol State Historic Site, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and the Lincoln Tomb State Historic Site. The NAACP also holds Springfield at its roots, having formed after a particularly bloody race riot here in 1908.

I like pizza. I have lived here for 35 years and always had the calzones at Lucas. A friend gave to me a slice of cold pizza that was so good tha I asked where it was from. I was surprised to find out it was Luca. I went there today and the pizza was even evn very good hot. I love crunchy crusts and this was as good as any I ever had.

Recently we stayed in a hotel near downtown Springfield with no clear idea of where to go for dinner. We wanted something simple and not too cashy. The hotel had brochures for Nancy's; selections looked like what we wanted. We were thrilled to share a Cesar salad and a small Chicago style stuffed pizza ( I think it was Tony's Special) We do not have huge appetites so a personal to share would have worked fine.. Our bill was a little cashy for pizza ($40 with including tip). Be careful ordering the pizzas...all toppings except cheese are ala carte. I believe Nancy's has an online menu so you can plan ahead of time. They also deliver to at least a 2 1/2 mile radius (that's how far our hotel was from the business)Would we go back? Definitely! Would we order smarter? Certainly!

Seeing that Gallina's Pizza has been in business for years, we decided to give it a try while visiting Springfield. There's nothing fancy about the restaurant, but the pizza was delicious. The sauce was thinner and sweeter than we are used to and there was a thin layer of cheese covering our pepperoni and black olives. A 14" size was more than enough for my husband and me. I especially enjoyed watching the variety of customers coming and going - a bus driver, some young kids, and even a couple dressed in formal attire. It turned out, they were part of a wedding party. I'm glad we went.

That was the right choice at this pleasant Italian restaurant. The meal was very balanced and cooked just right - Chicken was tender, Fettucine was not over (or under-) cooked, Marinara sauce didn't overpower the whole meal, and Grilled Veggies were very tasty. The meal was excellent , the service was attentive, warm and amiable - Italian style! The restaurant has a nice, welcoming ambiance. The location of Mario's Italian Restaurant is great too - on E Clear Lake Ave, off I-55.We enjoyed our dinner very much. Grazie!

This is essentially a bar and pizza place, but serves very good pastas and salads. I had a delicious shrimp linguini, and my wife had a huge Cobb salad with chicken. Decor is plain, and atmosphere informal. Our servers were very friendly. Prices very reasonable.

We read about this place on TA. We are always on a quest for the best pizza places in an area. This place came highly recommended so we gave it a whirl. It is a fast food concept pizza place. You order at the window. Make all of your selections. Then you pay for your pizza and wait. It was a decent pizza. The server was very friendly and helpful. The sauce lacked seasoning. We had to add some Italian seasoning which was available in a shaker next to the drink station. It was nice to have them put fresh mozzarella on your pizza. Here is a tip (order anything you want on your pizza it is all the same price). We did not see that tidbit of information until we were seated at our table waiting for our two topping pizza. We are so accustomed to paying for each topping we did not want to go overboard and drive up the price. This is just an average pizza place. We would rate it lower than a few in the area. It is nice to have it made your way but lacked interest. We ordered water with our meal and there was an option for sparkling water or regular water. That was a very pleasant touch to have this option. Good not great would be our summary.

We were staying at the Country Inn and decided we would have a pizza delivered. I ordered the meat lover's pizza. They said it would be there in 45 minutes to an hour. 30 minutes after ordering they were knocking on my door. Pizza was steaming hot and only a $3.00 delivery charge which I thought was very reasonable. The pizza was very good with plenty of toppings and good flavor. I would recommend it and would eat here again.

Engrained Brewery & Restaurant is a micro-brewery and farm to table restaurant. Brewed onsite, our beer lineup is crafted to bring friends together with a broad range of styles. Our menu features fresh and affordable food from local family farms!
As the title says it is well worth the effort to go, but it is not that easy to find, unless you use your GPS. But, once there, you will be happy you went. The microbrew wheat beer was very good. The menu is diverse, but not overwhelming. There are regional favorites offered, such as the Horseshoe (hamburger on bread slice, covered in french fries, and smothered in a cheese sauce) - it was great. I highly recommend Engrained.Thank you for the review! I am glad you enjoyed your visit. My apologies on the street navigation challenges, the city had a "unique" vision for the roads here! One hint for the GPS is make sure you put in the "West" part of 1120 W Lincholnshire and the 62711 zip code as well.
