Very family oriented Pizza parlor. Has been around for many years and makes you feel very welcome. Pizza is always very good and reasonably priced. A fine beer selection as every pizza restaurant should have. Plenty of parking on and off site. Favorite pizza place in San Leandro

New York Style Pizza. Serving whole pies and by the slice.
I've been coming here since they opened and I can honestly say they make the best pie's in town. The owners are very attentive to the quality of the ingredients and to the preparation and cooking of the pies....if you have eaten NY pizza you will find a kindred spirit at the Bluebird.

We were hungry after a day of driving around the Bay area. There was nowhere to eat that we felt safe walking to in the vicinity of the Oakland airport hotel where we were staying. The front desk advised us that Marina Pizza Parlor delivers and gave us a menu. The food that we ordered came at the time promised and was delivered to our room. The gyro combo, lasagna, and baked chicken salad were all very tasty and the portions were generous.
Can't beat a whole pizza with unlimited toppings for under $10...but it does take a while when there's a line. This is my new go-to pizza place. I just love all the topping and sauce options! I haven't tried their salads yet, but they look pretty awesome too.

Since PORKY'S PIZZA PALACE isn't open for lunch, I was challenged to find another non-chain pizza place in San Leandro. We were the first ones in the small restaurant right after they opened and I got the feeling that they weren't expecting any customers for a while longer. The server said they were known for their crust, and it was good...but not amazing. The pizza took forever considering we were the only ones there.(I honestly don't think they were prepared). But it was hot and cooked well when they served it. The sauce was good, and the toppings were adequate, but I thought the crust didn't live up to the hype from the server. Both I and my companion ordered iced tea and it had a bad aftertaste. It was undrinkable. I think it was left in the metal container from the day before (eww!). We switched to water, but before we left, the server came out with some fresh-brewed iced tea that tasted much better. I don't know why she wanted US to taste it, but I appreciate that she took our complaint to heart and just didn't think we were being overly picky.I would like to go back and try the pastas before I make a final yay or nay on this. But for now, decent pizza, decent service, cute little space.
