November 18, 2019 Kaleigh Reichenbach

Find out what Pizza restaurants to try in Prince George. Hub of the North, host of the 2015 Canada Winter Games and one of BC’s friendliest, most outgoing communities, Prince George is a vital crossroad for Northern British Columbia. Located at the confluence of the Fraser and Nechako rivers, where Highways 97 and 16 launch road-trippers on a variety of adventures, PG is a regional centre for shopping, arts and sports, where industry and innovation coexist, outdoor recreation is a way of life, and northern wilderness and urban amenities converge.

My search for the perfect pizza brought me to Little Caesar's on Central. I look for the perfect pizza crust, crispy, light, airy, not too doughy, not to hard. Their outside crust hints at this perfection. I think a lot of the pizza doughs don't have enough yeast, or they don't let it rise enough, or they don't slowly bake the crust first before putting on the sauce and toppings. I found the sauce layered on a little too heavy. Would have been nice to have a few veggies on this pepperoni pizza that came with the $6 lunch combo of pizza and pop

decided to return to panago since it has been a while since my last visit. In the search for the perfect pizza, i ordered a small goat's cheese veggie pizza for $12. I was interested in the texture of the crust as i think that makes or breaks a pizza. I noticed the doneness of the pizza was inconsistent. The outside crust always seems to be done and was crispy. The bottom was done but towards the inside of the pizza crust, some sections looked like it still needed to be cooked more. But for the cooked portions, it had a nice chewy texture to it, similar to the texture of a nice crusty, chewy baguette! This chewiness was not evident in our pg pizzas. The goat cheese topping was very flavorful.

Service was good, friendly. A bit longer then quoted but understandable for the day. However, forgot some of my order (gave a discount but still). Most importantly was the taste and texture both of our pizzas were extremely sub par. Can get better pizza just about anywhere in town. Could have called to complain but wasn't worth my time, won't be back.

Boston Pizza

Ah, the Vance Road Boston Pizza! When I’d first moved to Prince George in the Fall of 2003, this location was my “go to” when I wanted to dine in. I had no particular reason for selecting this location at the time; in fact, the BP on Central would’ve made more sense as it was a much shorter distance from where I lived. In the end I guess it had more to do with my general unfamiliarity with Prince George at the time than any real preference for Vance over Central. In fact, I’ll go on record right now and say that, in terms of food quality, both PG locations are about the same based on my experience. At the time of my move to PG in 2003, I was still very much on a “Boston Pizza high;” that is to say, I found them to be excellent – no doubt much better than they actually are – thanks to many a positive experience at the Chilliwack location. Based on that, whenever family came to visit me in PG, we’d come to the Vance location at least once (being a student at the time I rarely visited alone). BP was always a bit of treat. In any event, I remained a fairly steady customer of this location until around late 2009 when I migrated to the Central location. The last time I dined at this location was in 2013. That is, until my recent visit with family earlier this year. So, it had been a good five years since I’d ordered from – or stepped foot in – this Boston Pizza. One of the first things I noticed? The location has been renovated; it is much more spacious now, with modern interiors and décor. I’m not sure when this happened, but it does look nice. Bravo on that. In any event, on to the food and such: We received our menus pretty quickly, but I will say that, overall, service was kind of spotty. We sat for a good ten minutes before the server returned to take our order. After that, she was basically absent the whole time and nary offered us a refill on any beverages. I should point out, too, that the restaurant wasn’t busy at the time – it was mostly empty. But how was the food? Without getting too wordy, I’ll say it good – very good, in fact. Everything we ordered – from the appetizers to the mains – was executed to a pretty high standard. The whole experience reminded me of how I used to think of Boston Pizza back when I lived in the Fraser Valley. And I can say, without hyperbole, that this BP visit was much better than my last visit to a Boston Pizza (Terrace, BC). The Caesar salad was properly dressed and the lettuce was crisp; the wings were perfectly sauced; and my pizza, surprisingly, was of a higher than usual quality, at least in comparison to previous BP visits. Definitely no complaints about the food here. Overall, it was a nice meal.Bonus Trivia: For a short time this was the only Boston Pizza in town, following a fire at the Central location in 2011. Suddenly this place became a lot more popular!FOOD: 4/5SERVICE: 3/5VALUE: 4/5RECOMMENDATION: As noted, once upon a time this was my “go to” location when I lived in the area. Many a fond memory was had here, and I’m sure that probably clouds my rating a little. In any event, this location is convenient if one happens to be passing through Prince George on their way to some elsewhere community because it is located just off Highway 16. As such, if you want a decent meal and don’t want to drive into the heart of Prince George then this place has you covered.Hi, there. Boston Pizza

Boston Pizza is one of my family's go-to spots. I took out my family who was visiting from the UK for a meal last Sunday. The service was poor and the restaurant was nowhere near as busy as it usually is. The meals came out after quite some time. One of my family members waited for their meal well after the others had received theirs. Server mixed up order and brought out one extra dish of the 7-cheese ravioli. I mentioned this mistake to her when she brought out the food. She said she couldn't take the dish back at which point told her it was okay, mistakes happen (I just assumed I'd cover the extra charge). She responded with, "Oh, it's okay. You'll just get that dish for free." We proceeded to eat our meals. Approx five minutes later (I had taken a bite out of the extra dish at this point) she came back and loudly (quite rudely) announced to the table that I would either need to give the dish back or pay for it. Needless to say this was an extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing situation that left me completely shocked. Very disappointed with the service at this location and don't think I'll ever be back because of this.Hi, there. Sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your recent dining experience. We take this feedback very seriously and would like to follow up with the team involved. Please share the details at https://bostonpizza.com/contact-us.html so that we can make it better! Thanks.

I’ve read a lot of review for Daddyo’s Pizza and was stoked to give it a go with my kids and I. The reviews all raved about the place and for the most part are accurate. Overall the pizza is great, service was quick and delivery was fast. I believe there is some home town bias in the reviews though. Great pizza, but didn’t blow my mind as we thought it might. For sure the best Prince George has for pizza, we will definitely be back for more on our next visit.

A group of us visiting PG for a meeting walked over to CrossRoads Brewing one evening for drinks and dinner. To a person, everyone came away saying how much they enjoyed the beer and food offerings! I tried their beer sampler which was a great choice for me! Also, shared a pizza with another one of our group and we both thought it compared favourably to pizzas we’d had in much larger cities. It was really good! Prices were reasonable for everything we had, the service provided was efficient and pleasant. The decor and ambience was quite upscale and trendy. Would I go back next visit to PG.... absolutely!

I'm an out of towner who was treated to dinner their by my hosts. I ordered the Fried Cornish Hen while the three others with me ordered ...pizza?? After looking at the menu i knew i would not be doing that! Pizza looked good but my meal was absolutely delicious and incredibly creative. I took time to notice some of the other offerings they were preparing and they were a number of plates that I would have loved to try had I been around long enough to return. Definitely a must when visiting Prince George!
