Right in the middle of the old town, couple of streets off the port, look for this amazing place; it's a reopening of an activity which took a couple of years of break;the place design is very nice and appealing, clean look but still homey; the staff is wonderful, they're super polite, friendly and very professional; food is very good; they use traditional local ingredients to prepare plates that you wont find in a typical Sardinian restaurant; prices are more than reasonable; a must try in Porto Torres.

Go here only if there is nothing around. This place is mediocre for many factors. Food is not excellent, service nonetheless. Being in Sardinia, you expect much more quality wise. Staff did not seem enthusiastic and no attempt of suggestion. Pizzas were full of condiments and good looking but that was it. There is much better for sure close by.

The only thing better than the food is the service. We had an amazing meal and if you're staying in Porto Torres for any amount of time this restaurant is a must!

Whilst you're unlikely to make Porto Torres a destination given its sprawling, and rather ugly, industrial suburbs if you're ever in the area do not miss Lo Scogliolungo, a recently opened restaurant on the coast a little east of the town centre. Nicely decorated inside with an ecletic mix of objects ranging from old lps (including Julio Iglesias warbling in Italian) to old oars from a rowboat, there is also a generous terrace looking out to sea. The tables are well spaced and everything is just about perfect. Minor blemishes during our visit were the lack of wifi, which was due to be installed the following week, and the local radio playing over the sound system (I like Bruce Springsteen but I don't need 'Born in the USA' with my Italian seafood). The wine list is excellent with a good range of reasonably priced local wines as well as a great selection of fine champagnes (including Crystal) if you wish to go up market and spend a fortune. The Sardinian beer is on tap. Service is great (though there were few tables during our visit so it could slow at a busier time) - friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The choice and preparation of the food is first rate, and immediately on entering the restaurant there is a table groaning with the various catches of the day - we had a raw seafood selection which comprised oysters, clams, limpets, red prawns, scampi among other goodies, which was memorable. Though the focus is on the sea a table nearby went for the turf rather than the surf options and seemed well satisfied whilst another table of Italians seemed to be devouring everything on the menu with relish. At least out of season there is plenty of parking outside. Long my the quality of this establishment last ! It's great.

Historical family-owned paninis and pizza place founded in 1977 in the heart of the port town of Porto Torres, on the main square of the Consolata Church. Beside its popular fresh-baked pizzas and the different filled focaccias, it's possible to choose be
such a wide choice for vegetarians and vegans, for the first time in Sardinia I have spent more than 15 minutes trying to choose among all the great sandwiches I could have as vegetarian. Delicious and fresh food, huge sandwiches and friendly atmosphere. It could be great if there were some tables to eat in but absolutely recommended

Babbai offers typical Sardinian's dishes from land and sea and pizza cooked in a traditional wood-burning oven. Babbai serves also homemade desserts and a wide selection of Sardinian wines.
I was with my wife recently in Porto Torres (north of Sardinia) searching for a good fish restaurant, just willing to taste the local fish, and the way they cook it.We were advised by locals about a restaurant in the seaside, but unfortunately it was closed.Nevertheless, the owner suggested us another restaurant in the same town, so we came to know this understate place with excellent value for money (in our opinion). The restaurant is in a side street just nearby a local shopping center, and -in spite it doesn't offer fish- we were so happy to get here.We have tasted real recipes from Sardinia with local food, starting from a 5 stars appetizers, worth of the best rating both for presentation and taste of food: chees, hams, and vegetables, along with other delicacies, let us gain our heart (and stomach!) immediately.Following it, we have tried a "bis" of pasta, which is basically two small portions of pasta, to try different tastes. We have tried ravioli and gnocchi with different sauces, both made with local tomatos, meats and cheese, and we were definitely amazed and happy!!Consider we drunk the local wine "Cannonau", we had difficulties to stand up and the life after such lunch was looking quite more rose than actually it is... in spite we drunk only a glass of wine to stay within the law limits, we decided to walk and breath fresh air before sitting again and driving the car.The lady serving us was quite smart, friendly polite, and definitely good: we thank her by heart and congratulate with the chef.Go there respectful, and make space inside your stomach: I suggest you at least one day with no food before coming here, to clean your palate and accomodate what you'll be going to eat.Not the place for refined ceremonies, yet definitely good genuine food served by a family business staff.
