WAX Newquay is a brand new restaurant and cocktail bar located in the heart of Newquay. Located in a historic Lloyds bank this restaurant in a mix between modern stylings and the classic bank decor.
We came here on the 20th October for our wedding anniversary meal. After reading the reviews I thought 2 bad reviews, the rest brilliant - and it wasn't so big inside so we were expecting a more personal approach. This is not what we got. We ordered drinks and our meal at 7.02. The bar man said he would bring my cocktail over ASAP. 30 mins later still no cocktail!! My husband had finished half his drink! The barman looked busy so we assumed he was making the cocktail, no he went away from the bar and wiped tables!! We then said "excuse me, we are still waiting for a cocktail" he replied yes I know!!! He then came over with the cocktail which was mostly ice! The food - whilst that was quicker than the drinks HA - the burger I ordered was very rare. Almost still mooing! Then we noticed I was missing my onion rings - I didn't dare mention this as I thought I'd have a snappy reply. £41 - for a upscale Wetherspoons. We did enjoy the décor.

What a lovely cafe in a great location, nice food and the American waitress who served me was friendly and helpful. However, her colleague, who appeared to be In charge of staff was extremely RUDE with not an ounce of customer service! I was unfortunately served by this particular young girl on my second visit of the day. I do hope the managerial staff will give her the appropriate training!Im extremely sorry and cannot apologise enough that you have experienced this today. All of our staff are fully trained at the start of season and until now these standards have been maintained. I have spoken with this particular member off staff and ensure you and other customers that his will not happen again. Josh, manager

We had an evening meal here, no need to book, but because we didnât we missed out on the fabulous view. Pucelliâs is a first floor restaurant right on Padstowâs beautiful harbour, when itâs warm enough the full length windows are folded back, so a window table just adds to the experience. Our food was served quickly, was freshly cooked and was of high quality. The waiters were friendly and helpful, happy to chat which we always find a nice touch. We would have no hesitation in recommending Pucelliâs as a great place to eat.

Friendly greeting, good service, delicious salad starter with endive, figs, walnuts and curd cheese with a tasty dressing. I chose Monkfish main course which was beautifully cooked, husband chose the pork dish which came with a superb piece of crackling. Great experience -- thanks to our children for the voucher!!

The restaurant is a seasonal business which opens from April 1st until the beginning of October each year.
We rang for a table at the last minute. Explaining it was our last night of our holiday and that we had to dogs we were told that they would try and move some tables around and call us back. Sure enough, with 5 minutes we got the call to say they could fit us in. They were so accommodating and we were so thankful. We sat outside on the elevated terrace and caught a beautiful sunset over Harlyn - stunning! This was matched by the friendliness of the staff and the food. Both were exceptional, so much so that we stayed for 3 courses and a few rounds of drinks that we didnât anticipate doing. The restaurant in on a holiday park so is busy but there is plenty of parking and clear signs to follow to get to the restaurant. I couldnât fault the place, the setting, the food or the staff. Plus it was very dog friendly which was another plus point for us. Wow... thank you, such kind words which mean alot. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2020.
