Things to do in Norton
It's hard to find mom and pop type places that execute with the systems and precision of the big chains but you'll find that at Papa Roni's. High quality pizza, salads, subs, wings and INCREDIBLE ice cream (from the famous Katie's Korner in Youngstown. Some of their specialties like their signature Papa Roni roll and their Brier Hill style pizza can't be found elsewhere in the Akron area. And be sure to try a pint or quart of their dark chocolate peanut butter or cappuccino fudge ice cream -- yes that actually DELIVER ice cream as well as pizza. Unlike the chains, there is almost always one of the owner /partners on premise assuring great friendly service and quality food. Check them out! You won't be disappointed.
We've been going to this Pizza Hut (Norton, OH) since they opened and we will NEVER come back thanks to the customer service experience we had with Donna (the manager) tonight. We asked for "crispy" and the pizza was burnt. I have enclosed a picture. We brought back the pizza. Here's our conversation when we got there: "I really don't think it was right to put this pizza in the box. It was handed to us knowing it was burnt." "Ok well I didn't cut it." "Well the employee who did should have said something so we knew to arrive later or when we got here you should have told us that it was burnt and that it might be a few more minutes for the new pizza to be done or...(she cuts me off).""I know how to do my job." "Apparently you don't know how to do your job since this was such an oversight." "Ok well it's Easter." "I don't care what day it is! It's the principal that we drove back out here to pick up another pizza when the first one shouldn't have even happened. We didn't ask for delivery. So we used our time and gas to come back here for something that should have been addressed.""Yeah I know it wasn't delivery. Look I'm really busy.""You're kind of being rude." "I know I'm being rude because I'm busy." "Wow....you are being really rude. Good bye.""Have a nice Easter." "Yeah like you saying that changes anything." Donna NEVER said sorry, cared or even acknowledged the inconvenience that was for us. NEVER in my life have I EVER had such a horrible customer service experience! Donna had such a BAD attitude and we will never go here again thanks to the 40 minutes of our time that we spent to have that kind of treatment. A simple "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" would have sufficed.
I'd gotten menu flyers in the mail from this new take-out restaurant on Barberton's west side, and was tempted by the "International" flavor combos of pizzas. I had heard and read mixed reviews, most not complimentary, but tonite, I gave in to curiosity and hunger for something different. I ordered the Greek pizza, which comes with a thick crust, garlic-spiced oil/sauce, chicken breast, fresh tomato, black olives, red onions, spinach/arugula mix, and a blend of feta/mozzarella/provolone cheeses. I was prepared to be disappointed (other reviews claimed burned crusts, missing ingredients, meager portions, bad service), but my experience was just the opposite. My pizza (12" crust is their only size) was hot & ready for pick-up (25 minutes after phone order). The crust was thick and tender, just oily enough to make it yummy, and perfectly baked. The garlic sauce and blend of Greek spices was tasty, and the toppings were very, very generous. I was surprised at the amount of feta. I added a little Ken's Greek dressing on top. It was fantastic. If this pizza is typical of their quality, then I've just gotten a new favorite pizza place. I want to try most of their international specialty flavors...each $10. I also ordered chicken tenders. There were 3 large tenders and 3 jo-jo potato spears in the order. Delicious, and the tenders were huge. $5. They have some other chicken items (wings, mainly) and salads. All well-priced. The restaurant is clean & newly-decorated. Not much seating because this is primarily take-out. This is a restaurant chain, and there are possibly 4 other locations in the greater Akron OH area. You can find them online (with menu).

In the 80's, Parassons was great - then they changed their sauce and the food was horrible for a decade or so (I don't know how they stayed in business). I stopped in the other day and was pleasantly surprised with the chicken parm. It was reasonably priced, prepared well, exceptionally filling (I'm a big guy and needed a box), and tasted pretty good. The taste is around a 3, but the portion and prep make it a 4.Don't expect the finest of Italian foods, but for its market and price point, Parasson's is back on my list of places to stop by for a good meal at a good price. The service was also excellent.
I eat here (take-out) whenever I am in a hurry or want a good, cheap pizza. For $5, I get a very good pepperoni pizza that serves two hungry people (they have other things - chicken, sandwiches, etc, too). Just the right thing when you have been working around the house or on the cars. Great owner is normally on the premises and the place is family-owned. Nice folks, good food. One of my "go-to" take-out food places...
Have a great selection of pizza and Italian specialities. Great family place. Bring the kids. They will love it.
There seems to be no shortage of pizza places in Wadsworth Ohio; Gionino's is by far my favorite. They deliver, and while they always seem to say "give us 45 minutes to an hour" I've never had them take longer than 25 minutes to bring the pizza to the door. I am partial to their thin crust, though I don't complain if we only order a thick crust.

Having grown up in the New York City area, I know thatâs where you can get real pizza. Tomasoâs comes close: thin dough that falls over when you first pick it up; the right amount of oil (enough to drip, but not coat your tongue), lots of mozzarella cheese properly melted. But Tomasoâs let me down with the tomato sauce: it needed more basil and oregano.

My husband and I agree- this is our favorite pizza in northeastern ohio! Always delicious. Great prices, especially for the size. Never tried any of their entrees, but I've heard good things. Their house salad dressing is pink. Looks strange, tastes delicious!
