Plenty of traditional Piedmontese cooking on offer at this restaurant and wood fired pizzeria. We opted for a delicate risotto, a huge portion of lasagne for the boy and the much discussed local 'speciality' of agnolotti del plin. It's a famous dish round here - pasta stuffed with rabbit and veal in a plain gravy which isn't immediately appetising but sort of grows on you. As was usual in Bardonecchia, excellent cheap house wine, a nice mixed salad and some very tasty profiteroles for dessert. Pizzas looked very good.

Although not extensive, the menu has a good selection of typical Piedmont dishes and others from other regions and offers meat and fish dishes. For those interested there is also a pizza menu. The ambiance has the appearance of cleanliness, enhanced by white tablecloths. I had tagliatelle with rage (excellent) and filet steak which was also very good quality. The restaurant has a small selection of homemade desserts and from my sampling of the tiramisu I can highly recommend them. The staff are very helpful and kind without being overpowering. They even made an effort to provide a bowl of water for my dog (my sole companion on this occasion!!).

The best and lightest pizza in the upper Val di Susa, served in a family atmosphere supported by the union of mountain style with modern design. The beer list allows customers to choose between more than 40 different varieties, each with detailed directio
Pizza buona, sottile e ben fatta. A volte sono un poâ lenti nel servizio. Ampia scelta di gusti da abbinare a una vasta scelta di birre. Meglio prenotare. Parcheggio non facile.

Stopped for lunch having been before, remembering it as very good. Sadly it didnât live up to previous expectations. We were served (and I use the word served loosely) by an older gentlemen, who gutted when we asked a menu question, didnât say hello or goodbye and generally threw food and drink at us. Or at least the food and drink he remembered (or could be bothered) to bring us. Very very disappointed. Oh, the food was excellent, but the service was appalling! Hi Andrew, we're sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet expectations and we will take your feedback closely into account to correct the problems which have arisen. If you decide to visit us again, we hope you will find that these problems have been corrected.

If someone greets me when I enter a restaraunt I am pleased - I was not disappointed here.I assume this is a family run restaurant without better knowledge. Decor of restaurant is simple - no frills. Menu is rather large - I don't remember having seen almonds on a pizza before ?We were a family ot 5- all hungry; I must say this was not the best pizza I have had but OK - my son (18) was not happy with the garlic sour creme fraiche topped on his pizza as he had ordered it specifically without the sauce --- these things happen, Service was very nice, friendly - this day the staff broke lots of glasses by accident which amused everyone ; they joked about it and every one laughed. So 3 'stars' actually is due to very nice & friendly 'l'accueil' ; food was OK, not anything special . But I might return just for the fun of it

Located half way between Bardonecchia old town and Campo Smith, La Gran Baita is a great place for dinner. With reasonably priced pizzas (which are amazing) through to hearty meat dishes (such as stuffed pork) you can't go wrong here. At weekends you'll need to book, such is this restaurant's popularity and they also had a temporary issue with their phone line meaning we needed to get cash to pay for dinner.

Last night of week meal as staying across road in Campo Smith dump, looked for somewhere 5 mins walk and with good reviews.Odd place, like a leisure centre canteen, but staff seemed friendly enough. Steak I ordered was poor really , looked like it had been run over by a lorry.Kids had calzone which they enjoyed, and prices were ok.Spag bol a bit bland but ok.Not sure how 11th out of 57 in area and worried how bad some of those lower down must be, but I guess Bardoneccia is not very good overall for food places maybe ?Wouldn't return but ok for a plain meal with the family I guess.

Pizza & Beers.
Well my wife and I have been to this area 3 times before although in the winter. This time in early September we were taken by a Bardonecchia ski De Meastro Mattia Pont and his lovely girlfriend Marika to this place in Melezet. We thought we had had good pizzas before, but the pizzas here are to die for. When my pizza was put in front of me the aroma was fantastic and the eating it was a delight. I have never had a pizza so good and so very tasty. Please if youâre ever in the vicinity please go and have a pizza and one of their many hand made desserts you wonât be disappointed. The staff are fantastic and very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about what beer or wine to have with your meal.Next time my wife and I ski into Melezet we will make our way to here for A pizza.
