We spent a week exploring the whole of Puglia and the meal we had here was by far the best!! Lovely, homemade local dishes and the biggest, juiciest steaks I've ever seen!! Our first real experience of Burrata cheese which was amazing and we could not find any so good anywhere in Puglia!

It's a local place, not built up just for tourists. Fairly small (so remember to walk in advance), not visible from outside however, it surely worth a try being one of the best all over the area. You can choose what you want but give the pizza a try because it is really superior.

We walked by this pizza location on our way to our hotel. There were several people in line waiting to be served so we thought we would try it ourselves. We were certainly pleased that we stopped. The pizza was delicious with many types to try. The pizza is sold by weight, so you can try a few different options. The staff is very friendly. We went there on 2 occassions and the female who served us was very pleasant and spoke very good English. They place the pizza on a wooden board that you can take to sit on a bench in the front of the restaurant. Wine is 1⬠a glass Highly recommended.

La Roscia te lu Fucalire is a pizzeria Salento speciality, with a wonderful view to focalire where you can taste the delicious meats
High season might not have started yet (start of July and does it really matter?) but we were faced with a number of dishes which were not available. Very disappointing when you've set your mind on a course. Classic Vitello Tonato as a starter was straight forward disappointing. Other starters and main courses were fine. Besides certain dishes that were not available, apparently the same was valid for red wine (in Apulie!!!). We ordered 1 liter of the house red but we were served the rosé. To our luck the rosé was excellent ( especially taken into account the price of EUR 4.50 / ltr).

Tastefully modernised old building, very elegant and classy inside but not intimidatingly so. Cold glass of Prosecco on arrival and menus in English, half the menu is formal dining and half the menu is pizzas. The chef, Mario Graziano Manconi is passionate about provenance of ingredients, and the menu is full of regional products, sausages from a particular village, artisanal cheeses, handmade pastas, ancient grains. The menu showcases all the best food this region has to offer, cooked in exciting and interesting ways. We loved this restaurant so much we ate here twice over a weekend, and drove all the way from Lecce just to eat here the second time, itâs that good and fantastic value, a very reasonably priced lobster dish actually had half a lobster in it. Our favourite dishes were the pasta dishes, unusual pastas we had never heard of before like Paccheri and Busiate with intense sauces bursting with flavours like smoked aubergine and cave aged cheese (not together!). Some words got lost in translation on the English menu, so it is best to try to translate the Italian menu if you can rather than wholly trust the English menu, for instance ginger on the English menu actually turned out to be fennel. Also it would be helpful if the menu stated if the dish takes a long time to prepare, I chose a sea bass dish which was baked in a salt crust which takes at least 20 mins, had this been stated on the menu I would have ordered it ahead instead of having a long wait. The desserts are divine here too, a semifreddo sphere that melted when bitter hot coffee was poured over it was exquisite. Well chosen wine list also. We will make a beeline to eat here whenever we are in this region, Mario Graziano Manconi loves his job, loves showing off the amazing food on his doorstep and best of all loves sharing his passion with others.Thank you very much for your comments. We are very happy that our typical dishes, reinterpreted in a creative key, are to the taste of guests visiting our town. See you soon!

Pizza was amazing - worth the 30minute drive we made to be here. Soft fluffy crust with decent toppings. Had an eggplant parmigiana entree which was also fantastic. If this wasn't our last night, we would definitely come again! Service was outstanding.

We have a second home in Salento and have tried many local restaurants. The standard is this area is high and hidden in the back streets of Martano is this absolute gem. We had dinner first as a couple and enjoyed every course, the risottoâs are excellent and I had fresh fish as part of the â catch of the dayâ. Delicious! My husband loves pizza and he believes this is the best ever! Thin crust, very tasty toppings.. 10 out of 10! The service is exceptional too and all so good that I returned 2 days later with 5 local lady friends for lunch. Everybody loved it, especially my Italian friends who loved the pasta dishes. Needless to say, we are returning again and now have âOperaâ down as a regular for the future.

Small Pizzeria in the historic center of Lecce, excellent pizza and tasty homemade sandwiches, great courtesy and kindness of the owners themselves a unique place, a place where you can eat on the fly first class
We visited here two times during our stay in Lecce. We were lucky enough to find a table outside where we enjoyed a beer while my husband went in to order the pizza. All credit to the guys inside who told us that a full pizza would be too big for two persons....they were totally right! They produced our perfect pizza and the proportions were exactly right. Great food, cold beer and an honest approach to customer service. Thank you!Ciao Cat, our work involves passion and this passion guides us in trying to make those who come to see us feel good, being honest is an essential prerogative if we want to try to be always better, we are happy you found yourself well, we hope that in your next trip in Lecce you want to come back again to see us, because as they say, there is no two without three. GOOD LIFE.
