After a couple of days traveling in Japan we where looking for some change to the traditional Japanese food and found this friendly staffed Italian restaurant in Nara.We loved the friendly owner and his staff members and the pizzas and pasta tasted great. We were surprised with our names written in Japanese on a piece of paper which we could bring back home. Also the dessert was a nice surprise. We would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a break to the traditional Japanese food when traveling in Japan and staying in Nara.

Pizzas were good but about half the size of what I like to see. Only came in around ¥1000 so cant complain too much. Good cocktail selection and nice enough place. Just wasn't wowed by the portion size, not to mention the prosciutto and salad pizza seems to literally be just that on bread with no cheese or tomato so quite possibly the healthiest pizza ever.
Had the best margherita pizza I have ever had. Strikingly wonderful tomatoes over delectable mozzarella with an amazing wood fired thin crust. The other diners spoke similarly about their pies. Appears like a food truck but is more than that, with outside dining and good wines. Try it you will love it.

I was seated downstairs, but did need to go upstairs to use the restroom and the ambiance/decor is totally different.Downstairs you are closer to the street, the pizza oven, and it's more boring. However, they let me charge my phone while dining there. I did have to seek out a server when I needed something, but my food came out pretty quickly. The pizza was good, some of the better Japan-gone-Italian I've had.
Fully enjoy authentic Naples pizzas at our pizzeria with a relaxing, homey space. [PIZZERIA ICARO], with an impressive garden with different atmospheres along the seasons, serves authentic Naples pizzas. Our chef, who accumulated training in Naples, caref
I cannot rate Pizzeria Icaro highly enough - both my partner and I have said the pizzas we ate here were just as good as those we have had in Italy. Not only is the dough fantastic, but the topping ingredients fresh and delicious (and lots of options for both meat eaters and vegetarians).I had the gluten free base and the care they put into the preparation and cooking of it to avoid cross contamination was some of the best I have ever experienced. They prepared my dough/pizza in a separate room to the main kitchen area with different utensils, and then cooked it in the (beautifully tiled) pizza oven on it's own tray and alone. The dough was soft and easy to cut, and the crust had a nice little puff to it (whereas they are often totally solid and thin). The pizzas are a really decent size, but if you have room for dessert you're in luck - they're equally delectable. Gluten free or not - if you're in Nara, DEFINITELY take the short bus (or taxi) ride to visit here!
