Big pizza fans that we are, it takes a lot to please our taste buds and sway us to favor a pizza with a high rating. Everything possible worked for Pelican Pizza: pentiful great tasting sauce, yummy cheese, abundant amount of toppings, great crust, and great service. I will certainly go here again (and again and again).Sometimes we just take a chance, try something new, and (like in this case) we find a great new something-or-other. This made up for the mediocre shawarma wraps we got at International Market and Deli, just down the street.

The menu is extensive with several intriguing offers we'll try our next visit. We specifically went later than usual (1:45 p.m.) but found the restaurant about 3/4 full. We did not have to wait for a table and had a great booth. Unfortunately the room, while not totally crowded, was a little noisy for conversation and it wasn't until about 30 minutes later until we could easily carry on a conversation. I opted for a grilled shrimp power bowl. It was different and very good - I'd definitely recommend it while my husband had the chicken fettuccini. Both dishes were a little salty for our tastes and my husband, who suffers from Meniere's and has to watch his salt intake, ended up not feeling well as a result. I had eaten at a number of their properties in Southern California and will probably return to try some of their other plates and pizzas.

I don’t like to eat out for the sake of eating out. However, on vacation nearly everyone looks for another-cooked meals for their sustenance. If the restaurant is great, the place will be well decorated, the server will be entertaining, and the food will taste like it was cooked just for you. This does not describe Louie Linguini’s. The place appears to have been decorated in the 60’s, the server barely spoke to us, and the portions were small and tasted commercial. Like most things in California, I felt the prices were higher than the product could bring in other markets. On the plus side, our order was taken promptly, we didn’t have to wait long for the food to be delivered and the view of Monterey Bay was great. We had a very relaxed time and enjoyed ourselves. My wife enjoyed a fruity mojito and I sipped on my chianti. Before we could drink even half our drinks, our server delivered our food. We took our time, partly because I felt the food was too hot, but mostly because we just wanted to relax at our repast. This would not be a place I’d take a friend or business associate, but a couple on their pre-retirement vacation, this is perfect. I would go here if I was on a quick stop-over and just needed a beer and pizza or some decent pasta with a little wine. A short disclaimer: we visited this restaurant around 4 pm, before the dinner crowd, and probably at the end of the day shift. This may affect how this place perform. I’m wondering if this place is livelier after dark, and more fun when the evening folks are running the joint.

I ordered a 8 Cut Small Pizza with Mushrooms & Pepperoni From Heirloom Pizza in Monterey, CA. We were very disappointed with the quality of the mushrooms & pepperoni. The desired toppings were Very sparse & the crust tasted like overdone wheat crust. The little bits of mushrooms were paper thin & sparse. Sorry, I will not give this restaurant a second try. Over priced at $25!hello,so sorry to hear about your disappointing visit. i would be happy to comp another pizza to see if we could change your mind. let me know if you would like to try again.it's not an accident that we have so many great reviews about our food and service, but we def make mistakes. we are always happy to make it right. one tip: let the business know immediately when you are dissatisfied. this gives us the chance to see you smile right away...

The pizza was good, but every table in the place had used dishes on it. They were completely overwhelmed and it wasn't really all that busy. Waited at the bar for about 10 minutes for a drink - finally gave up. There are probably a lot of better pizza places to go to.
