Portofino Restaurant has been in business for over 25 years, the goal has stayed the same quality, fast service and a friendly neighborhood environment. Making almost everything in-house requires a lot of work but we know that this pays off when you try o
We went to Portofino for a birthday dinner. Everyone enjoyed being there. The food was good with the exception of far toooo much garlic even when I asked for none on my food. They are accommodating, the restaurant is well staffed and pleasant, very, very noisy after 5:30 p.m. We could not hear each other. They have crustless pizza which everyone enjoyed, I had salmon which was above average. Others had ravioli and other entrees and enjoyed it.

Delightful wood fired pizza with fresh ingredients. Salad was excellent, with greens fresh from a local farm. Service was good. But the water situation needs attention. Tiny toddler glasses and no bottle left at the table. The server could have re-filled my water glass 97 times but I tired of asking. Well worth a stop, excellent food, prices and portions.
It's a pizza franchise.. I see it as a great place for young people to get a weekend or after school job (good for you). You can dine in, take out, or have it delivered; sometimes it takes awhile. They have the pizza market cornered in Kingston, not much impetus to make a better product for the end user/client (me). Alas, the standard American business model... No imagination, no drive, no conflict, and therefore no change. However, if you have a pizza craving prior to your ferry boarding, please patronize this establishment; it is "good" but certainly not "awesome".
This place is a wonderful community supporter. During the holidays we took the great nieces and nephews to the port lights. West side was part of the business community who supported the kids scavenger hunt. Paul the owner was kind and gracious to the little ones and we had a great meal too.
