I thought long and hard before posting this after so many glowing reviews, but am doing so in the hope the owners take it on board (although with the number of tourists in grindelwald they probably don’t need too).Firstly the positives.This is a nice atmospheric restaurant and the owners are lovely.The pizzas have very good basesAnd the negatives leading to this ratingThe ingredients for the toppings just aren’t good quality. I had a simple pizza, with ham and mushroom. The ham was like the stuff you get as a cheap value item from a supermarket. Mushrooms were ok, just not many. Sprinkled with dried herbs. I think it was 26-28 francs.For this I would have expected decent quality ham and fresh herbs.On top of this there was way too much cheese.As a result all I can say is it was very average.We have a few nice pizza restaurants in Bristol that are simply leagues ahead taste wise as a result of using better quality ingredients, which is a shame as onkel toms with their bases has the potential to be awesome if they improve their toppings.It pains me to write this, I hope the owners take it as intended, which is as Constructive criticism.

Found this spot quite by accident and was recommended a Chilli Con Carne by a fellow traveller, had that and a few beers, top notch, great service, clean as a whistle, to be recommended.

Stayed at a B&B in Hohfluh and the owner recommended this restaurant for local food and being child-friendly.There was a big table next to us with about 8 drunk guys. They weren't scary, but it was not very child-friendly. Food was OK, no more.

I am a bit surprised with the low ranking of this restaurant, I found the restaurant food excellent and the lady owner extremely friendly, the prices are according to swiss standards which is ok,We were 4 adults and 3 kids and we ordered pizza, lasagna, spaghetti, every dish was excellent and well prepared, the owner lady even entertained the kids letting them watch TV , extremely friendly Only thing they don’t accept Credit cards, i would definitely go there again whenever i am in Meiringen .

Great food & was served quickly at lunch time. Pasta and Salad was perfect. Price is ok. Most of the dishes are available in small portions. Also very kind service people. Defintely recommend.

I went there with my 8y old daughter and we ordered a small portion of spaghetti, and for me salmon with vegetables and rice. We asked the waitress not to add the peperoncini to the spaghetti, because my daughter does not eat spicy food. Unfortunately the waitress apparently forgot to tell the kitchen, and when she brought the food - spaghetti with peperoncini - apologised for this, and offered to prepare another plate of spaghetti, in case it was too spicy for my daughter. It indeed was and within 5 min the kitchen produced a new plate of spaghetti.At first, the service was sort of neutral, not overly friendly (but also not rude or unfriendly), but towards the end of the meal the waitress was actually smiling and even engaged in some small talk with us.Dessert was an espresso and a piece of torta della nonna, which was ok but not more than that. This torta should be a crumbly and soft pastry, filled with rich and delicate custard cream, and topped with tasty pine nuts, but in this version the pastry was not soft and also the custard cream was pretty solid, perhaps because it just came out of the fridge.All in all an ok meal for a Wednesday evening, but not more than that. The bill was CHF 72, for: 1 apple juice, 1 glas of red wine (1 dl), a small portion of spaghetti, salmon with rice and vegetables (CHF 38), 1 espresso, 1 piece of torta del nonna.At the end of the meal the waitress gave my daughter a small bag of gummi bears. I tipped CHF 4.
