Pizza Rock Hsinchu offers authentic stone-baked, thin-crust, Italian pizza, baked pasta, panini sandwiches, salads, soup, imported drinks, beer, wine, in a warm and friendly rock and roll themed restaurant! It's the perfect place to grab a slice and a bee
This is a very thin, crispy crust pizza (I usually go for the thicker type). I got #1 with sausage, which had a great balance of sauce, basil, & garlic. Amazing (ie., belgian) beers for cheap (1/3 US price, 2x Belgian price), with nice music (not loud), too. A great find and next to Hotel Royal!

The reviews would have put me off. Glad they didn't. I was with a party of 8. We ordered a bunch of appetizers (salad, cheese etc). All good. The bread was a little stale but compared to the hotel food we had been eating all week it was fine. Then we shared pizzas and steak. The pizzas were excellent. Especially the squid ink one. Really tasty. The steak was also perfectly cooked and tender. Wrapped it up with a tiramisu. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Quirky decorations (obsession with owls) and attentive service made it a perfect end to the week away from home. It's a shortish walk back up the hill to the lakeshore hotel gives an opportunity to walk off some of the carbs.

I walked past this restaurant earlier in the day, and was pretty impressed with the menu, so came back to try it out for dinner.I ordered Gorgonzola Geese Gratin and then the tri-colour (Italian Flag) pizza. The Gorgonzola Geese Gratin was accompanied by four absolutely perfect pastry puffs. The gratin itself had little of the titular Gorgonzola and a lot of chopped egg in it. Canât recommend, but oh the puffs! The pizza was just about as perfect a pizza as Iâd ever eaten. Well done kitchen, especially as it was very busy on the night I was there.Staff were a mixed bag, but enough good to outweigh the ordinary, and as I said it was very busy, so no points deducted on that account.

We were having dinner together with two Italian guys and they made good comments about the pizza, a bit reluctant to say that it was very good. However, one of them ask for tiramisu after that and started saying it was like the one that cooks "la mia mamma"! It was enough for me to order one for me. So I can now say by myself: bravissimo!
