I openly gave the cook a $5 tip, because we like lots of cheese. He made the most beautiful pizza I've ever seen. The waitress scooped it up with her paddle and instantly flipped it onto the floor. We waited for another 20 minutes and got a skeleton pizza we hated. We've not been back! The pizzas quality varies greatly and there is rapid employee turnover! VERY POOR management!
I've been there twice. I waited forever to get an order in and the second time I could wait no longer. Poor service! Poor quality! deserving of a poor reputation!
Hungry Howie's pizza is generally tasteless and greasy. You almost always need to put salt on it and the cheese doesn't quite

Had dinner a couple off tunes here and loved the atmosphere. Good was tasty and great selection of beers. The only thing I didn't like was the waitress was ibn a hurry to clear the dishes when people in our party weren't thru with their entree. The bill was set on the table while I rant even finished with my dish! It wasn't busy do no reason to turn over the table.I would visit again. Just slow down on getting the check paid for! Guest wasn't to chat and take their time...nit be interrupted by a waitress that wants to clear the table#
Really great use of old space. Cool exterior and interior. Beers are well done and food is excellent. Nice elevation. Friendly service. Definitely stop in. Would like better parking options.
They did an excellent job of redoing the restaurant formerly known as Sammy's Pizza. More seating, nice decor, good menu. I ordered a pizza for pickup that was prepared in less than 20 minutes. The pizza was good, but a little higher priced than I expected. I thought a single item small pizza would cost under $10.

Having only ordered the pizza and chef's salad, I can't comment on the rest of the menu but I wasn't overly impressed with the food. The pizza (simple cheese and pepperoni) was super greasy and nothing special. The salad was iceberg lettuce with deli ham and turkey, a sprinkle of cheese, olives, mushrooms, and croutons. Both items were fine but nothing special. Decent prices and ok service- not super friendly, either.

Full service mid scale casual Large menu with daily specials. Full bar and beer and wine list. All homemade food including homemade desserts & real gelato
This once was Savarino's Restaurant but changed it's name, layout, staff and menu after a change in ownership. I have to say that the menu is too ambitious for the kitchen which can't produce high-quality dishes across the board. They often have Bluegill which is not a fish I've ever seen in a fishmonger's market or grocery store. Someone there must have a farm pond with pan-fish. I have eaten here a dozen or so times and have never had a meal beyond average quality. Each time I try something else. The waitstaff is very friendly and a lot of locals are regular diners here. However if you are in Hillsdale on business you might consider going up the road to Jonesville which has better restaurants.
