Lunchtime deal: £6 for a burger, chips and a coke. Sounds pretty good! But wait...Wait while the waitress finishes chatting to the bloke at the bar. But eventually she manages to grab a moment to serve me. Oh, the bloke at the bar might have been the chef...He disappears into the kitchen to heat up a burger that may have been drying out overnight to his perfection, or might have just been waiting under the grill for me to arrive. It eventually appears in front of me on the obligatory artisan slab of slate, with a little mound of lettuce artistically arranged, and a little bucket of tiny pencils. Cool! I look around for a colouring book only to realise that the pencils are in fact fries! Pencils would have been more tasty. I drown my sorrows in the glass of luke warm flat cokey-stuff with a sort of bland flavourlessness that is vaguely reminiscent of the âreal thingâ.But, hey, Circolo Pizzeria is a vibrant funky, independent artisan local business which we all need to support, so I could almost forgive the dessicated food. Almost, but my stomach is less forgiving. Off to the chemist for a funky indigestion remedy.

Our 3rd visit in 18 months. As before, a thoroughly enjoyable lunch with superb food and good service.Perfect Minestrone, garlic bread and pizzas. Huge portions, well-cooked, hot and looked great on the plate.My mushroom/onion/peppers pizza was as good as it gets.Friendly efficient service throughout.Comfy seats and spacious.Unless you want a window table, or are a large group, probably no need to book apart from peak evenings. It deserves to be full though.On road parking nearby, level access.Love it.

Good veriaty of food and drinks. Pleasant staff, and will banter for prices. Good delivery service, anywhere on the Island. In or out of the holiday camps, or camping area's. Also make your own pizza selection, at extra cost.

I booked this restaurant some months before as it was my 60th Birthday treat. I went with my wife and mother in law as we were visiting Portsmouth. We started with some lovely warm olive oil bread with oil and balsamic which was lovely and set the tastebuds going. I opted for a starter and had the avocado, tomato, mozarella and parma ham which was a lovely combination of ingredients. I had a spaghetti carbonara with a rugola salad. My wife and mother in law had penne with a creamy sauce of chicken and bacon. Absolutely lovely and approved by all. The restaurant was full and we went on a Tuesday evening at 7pm so booking is essential. The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive. the bill was also very reasonable even with a bottle of wine.

Greg has been operating his mobile wood-fired pizza oven for some time now, formerly operating at a number of locations on Hayling Island, such as the Lifeboat and the Olive Leaf, but now established at Hayling Hardware car park on Friday nights. He also serves at the Coal Exchange in Emsworth and one or two other locations off he Island. He also accepts commissions for weddings and other celebrations.The pizza dough base is freshly hand made and all the ingredients are also of high quality and fresh. The pizza only takes two or three minutes to cook in the 400c heat of the glowing oven inside the van.Last night I had an 'El Classico', which had toppings of chorizo, mixed peppers, red onion, goat's cheese and black and green olives. I asked for anchovies as an added topping. Once cooked it was drizzled with chilli oil and an extra virgin oil, infused with thyme, rosemary, garlic and chilli, followed by a generous sprinkling of fresh parmesan and dressed with basil leaves. There were several other menu options, with daily and seasonal changes being offered. The taste of the pizza was excellent, with a lovely thin, crispy base. The drizzled chili oils added a special extra spiciness. I feel that the fact that it was cooked so quickly at such a high temperature adds to the quality of this product. The service was also helpful and friendly.Highly recommended

Sought out somewhere to eat Italian while in Fareham. Closest was Emsworth that showed any potential. Super place, super service super food & super sized portions. Just as other reviewers have said. Sometimes you wonder if something is true but this really is. A gem of a place amongst the ordinary and the chains. Be warned. Book for at least for Friday and Saturdays. Don't think you will have a quiet meal. The others diners are having too much fun and talking about the portion sizes. A must if you can make it there. Near enough to portsmouth but you need a car.

Daughter and granddaughter made a surprise visit, lovely but the cupboards were bare (well almost) so a last minute booking to please all tastes. We all loved the tasting small plates. The mussels ,daughter and I, were very good but a little on the small size. Not a complaint just a comment. My granddaughter s pizza was really excellent, we all had a taste. Crispy thin base and plenty of tasty toppings. Perfect. Puddings good too. The service was pleasing and non intrusive, just right for catching up. Excellent selection of gins too.Hi Penelope thank you so much for your lovely comments on the food and service and glad that you enjoyed yourself we cant wait to all see you again.
