Ordered some take out on a night I was running late. Pizza, grinders and salad was on the menu for that night. The family all commented on how good the pizza and grinder was. Definitely recommend this pizza restaurant for some quality take out.

Having grown up loving the movie "Mystic Pizza," my fiancee and I could not help but take our adult children to this establishment during a recent visit. The ambience was perfect for the movie's namesake restaurant, the service was crisp and competent, and the pizza was loved by all. The pie had just the flavor and toppings that the menu promised. We will return.

I ordered a small pizza for $9.50 on my way back from the Outer Light Brewing Company and they said it would be ready in just 10 minutes. The interior is a little worn and they are located in a strip mall, next to a liquor store. The pizza was good, but I can't rave about it... it hit the spot, was a bit thicker crust.

On a recent trip to the SS Nautilus, our 8-person crew was ready for a local lunch. We were pleasantly surprised when we found New York Family Pizza. We ordered 3 large pizzas, a tuna salad, and a meatball sub, and had an entire pizza to take home. (Half of our party were children between ages 8 and 13.) Everyone was happy with their food, and the bacon, tomato and onion pizza we ordered was especially good. The staff was hard-working and nice.

We like this place in general. We have gone several times to hear live music on the weekends and to order drinks. I think is a well-managed, spacious, and reliable part of the New London scene. Most recently we went for a celebration dinner. We ordered 2 seafood entrees- a sampler platter and snapper. They were good, but we both felt they were a bit overly seasoned and cooked with too much butter. I mean, butter makes food taste delicious, but in this case it seemed like too much of a good thing. Most people say you can't go wrong with their pizzas. I will go back, and I do recommend it.

Once you get through the easily confused waitress and the marijuana smoke in the bathroom, the food isnât that bad. I tried a Thai Peanut pizza and it was pretty good. Prices are fair and beer is cold.

When people speak about dining out at an Italian Restaurant they rarely experience dining as if they were in Italy. The American influence has changed the Italian restauranteur to cater to the American palate instead of staying true to the Italian culture. Il Pomod'Oro does not waiver in the style that their heritage and customs have been instilled by the owner, Petrit. Their chef, Bruno, has brought his Italian culinary training to America for the first time in Il Pomod'Oro. They don't believe in sacrificing quality, their integrity is paramount to Italian country cuisine. It separates them from any other restaurant in Connecticut. Not one other dining establishment does what they do, the sacrifice is to great. The customer at Il Pomod'Oro is paramount. The staff is sworn to a dining experience like no other, this is the difference. They always make me feel that I am the most important guest in the house. There attention to detail is a benchmark in the industry. Wine Selection, food pairing, cleanliness, from outside to inside they are unrivaled. The menu creativity is what places this restaurant completely apart from a so-called competitor. If your not dining at IL Pomod'Oro once a week or twice a week you are missing the taste of True Italian Cuisine, I mean organic, farm fresh quality that is never compromised, never. Doesn't look much from the outside, but this is a little gem.Very friendly staff, and quick service.The Pizzas were delicious and the salad not bad either.It's BYOB so don't expect to be able to order beer or wine.Prices very reasonable.Will certainly come back next time in Groton

On a raw misty evening we found our usual favorites closed for the season and Trip Advisor lead us here. It being a Monday we had our choice of seats and we were greeted quickly. Our drink orders taken we perused the menu which contained mostly Italian items, but also included Greek, seafood and traditional items. My wife had baked haddock 6 large pieces with salad and baked potato. I had liver served with bacon and onions salad and baked potato. All portions were huge, enough for several meals at home. With some protein the salads would be enough for a meal! A great neighbor hood restaurant, not far off the main drag. Thanks Trip Advisor

My experiences of the Recovery Room are always the best experiences. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The food is delicious. I have never had a bad meal, even tried some new food cuisines.Even takeout is a great experience. Food is prepared and ready within minutes.
