We had previously visited this excellent little restaurant on our previous visit to Lucolena three years ago, and I was extremely pleased that the quality and prices were still the same! We enjoyed the four cheese pizza and the ravioli, both in a rose sauce and a basil and butter sauce. Delicious caprese salad to start and panacotta for dessert, accompanied by red and white wines: absolute perfection. Good to see Alex, the manager, again. We actually had dinner twice in our week's visit.

Authentic. Simple. Homemade. Where locals go for good, decent food. This was the first restaurant we found after we'd parked our car, we were hungry, and it was busy at lunch time. Our server struggled to speak English, and we struggled to speak Italian. But that's okay - that's when you know that a restaurant full of people isn't catering to the tourists, but making the "real" food that the residents expect.Despite our language barriers, we were able to order some simple pasta dishes and pizzas - all delicious and filling. I had the cacio e pepe, basically cheese and pepper pasta, and it was wonderful. I think there must have been an Italian grandmother in the kitchen making our food. Or at least, it tasted like it..

Visited while we were staying in Strada in Chianti. A quiet location (Strada end of Greve)with easy parking.Menue was not extensive and the starters were tiny however, the main was really good quality and plenty.Went for lunch in the peak season (Aug) but was not that busy. Price was reasonable for good local food and nice experience overall.

We go to 'Casa del Popolo' pizzeria in Lucolena on regular basis. The food is consistently very good and very reasonably priced. Friendly and welcoming staff.Modest and no frills place, yet authentic with fab spirit of local etruscan community.Favourite desert of all times - 'Mille Foglie'Highly recommended.

45 minutes after ordering, we received a basic anti-pasta with mixed ham. Then, (after another 20 minnutes) the pasta dish for my wife was not what we ordered. We were told, that they were out of what we ordered, and they took the initiative to replace by another dish thta my wife did not want. Finally to receive another pasta dish that tasted only water. We left after two hours whitout my wife eating anything. And, we had to pay the full bill.A real shame to Italian cuisine.........to avoidâ¦â¦..to avoid

The Pasticceria Chianti is a good spot to refuel in the middle of a busy day sightseeing the region. Overlooking the main square in Greve in Chianti, they offer delicious cappuccinos and itâs a recommended spot to try the cantucci with the Vin Santo, Chiantiâs sweet dessert wine. All the homemade pastries and cakes looked really appetizing as well.

Pizza has been there for ages and evolved to many things - from Napoli-style on one hand to a variety of deep-pan-cheese-in-the-crust-pineapple containing monstrosities. Lo Spela made a step forward, experimenting with a variety of dough types and creating new types of toppings (kind of like the I Tigli in Verona). They are very good in it and the pizza tasting menu that we got was a perfect balance between traditional and daringly new. Since we were a group, we were even able to arrange a short demo before the dinner to see how a quick and easy dough is made (Lo Spela proofs most of its doughs for at least 24 hours, though).A perfect creme brulee dessert was a nice end of a simple, but definitely not fast-food dinner.

Pasta and Pizza is conveniently located on Via Chiantigiana (SR222) in Panzano. After a day of touring wineries, we were looking for a quick bite. We arrived at 6:30 pm, and although the door was open, we were told we couldnât be served until 7 pm. We continued on our way to Greve, hungry and thirsty.

We happened upon La Cantina by chance. We werenât very hungry, but we were charmed by the casual gentleman we came to hear was the âBoss Man.â He gave me a fist bump, and then gave us a nice table inside. We were treated to wine and appetizers (and later, dessert) on the house, and enjoyed cocktails and our delicious meals, and had a lovely time.
