Great value place, loved pizza which you can double up for only 4e, house wine is perfect. Lighting bit too much but no need to worry about that.

Family run hotel and restaurant. Very friendly. They speak English. You will enjoy the most delicious Aosta Valley food prepared by Mariella and you must savour 'La Grolla' (Aosta Valley friendly and very alcoholic coffee!) a speciality of my Maurizio (her son) and don't forget to ask for Vittorio's (her husband) famous hot chocolate. Uh I forgot... the pizza is just amazing!

Special kind of restaurant, with a Olympic contestant as owner/chef. Amazing and very intriguing to see the actual medals from various competitions. The pizzas we had were very, very good, thin crust, nice topping and tasty. The interior decorations were light in color, but somewhat impersonal. A little to bright lights, so to say. Plenty of locals, that usually says something good about a place. Would definitely visit again for the pizza.

We came for lunch by chance, and had a table in the cosy room to the right of the entrance. All carved wood walls and ceiling, beautiful tiled floors, orchids. A typical welcoming atmosphere. We had a good meal, not pricey, excellent service, well presented. Well recommended. There is a great selection of beers.

We walked in one evening only to find out the place was fully booked. So we booked for the next evening and ended up eating here again because we liked it very much. This is a more casual place compared to some others but very good value. The main feature is the huge pizza oven. The pizzas were really good, and the pizza list is a kilometer long (that is approx 0.6 miles for our English friends :-)). We tried the steaks as well and liked them, too.

Excellent food, outside terrace area as well as indoor dining. VERY good value for money. Coped well with a booking for 8 for lunch at short notice. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff with 2 indoor eating areas. On the road level there is a modern spacious more open plan space and downstairs has a more intimate cosy feel. Highly recomend

A small takeaway pizzeria in the middle of Gressoney. Pretty good - and large - pizzas. 3 small tables, plastic knives and forks, no plates. So, very simple, back to basics. But pizzas were crisp, and that is, what counts.

We have a house in Gressoney and we know almost all the restaurants in the St Jean-La Trinite area. Most of these restaurants serve a standard Walser cuisine which is made of polenta and cervo (local deer). You can also find pizzerie that serve traditional Italian pizzas. The problem with all these places is that the menu is limited, so there isn't a lot of choice, which is a problem if you stay for some time in Gressoney.Plus, the locals are not the friendliest people in Italy, so the service is sometime not really satisfying.Nothing of all that at the Fienile: the owners are from Sardinia, and they are extremely kind with everybody, locals or tourists, italians or foreigners. They make no difference. The menu at the Fienile is really interesting because there are a lot of meat dishes alongside Sardinian fish recipes. The dishes are really good, made with the freshest ingredients, especially the Gnocchetti alla Campidanese (fresh tomato sauce plus sausage), and the Fassona meat dishes (Fassona is the best Italian meat, produced in the Piedmont area). They also make the famous Seadas, the best of the Sardinian desserts! There is really a lot of choice, they even make pizzas! The restaurant itself is really nice, it's all made of local wood, it's really comfy and everybody spends time there after finishing their lunch or dinner. All in all a very good restaurant, with honest prices.Do not forget to reserve a table, especially in the evening, as it gets quite busy on the weekends and vacations periods.
